The dragon took a step forward, making the ground shake in fear. She brought her head down to the were-wolf, snorting smoke into the his face. Black jaws opened, letting out a verbal snarl, shaking Krystal to her core.

"Run." She whispered, smoke pouring out of her mouth, surrounding the were-wolf. The man shifted into a dark colored wolf, before turning tail and hurrying to the underbrush. Krystal watched as the dragon lowered itself to the ground, curling up into a ball, her chest rising and falling greatly. Krystal looked at the black reptile, seeing dark, black blood pour from the wounds.

"Your a Shifter?" Krystal asked in a small voice, backing away from the living mound of scales.

"Yes," A soft voice responded before the dragon took a deep rattling breath. "I am a Shifter from the land across the sea."

"Your also a female?"

The dragon bowed her head, resting it on the ground directly in front of Krystal, it's purple eyes catching Krystal's blue ones. "Yes, I am the only female, knight and shifter, within your kingdom and on the east side of the forbidden land. I am still a knight, your knight, so you are able to decide my faith. What do you wish for me to do?" The reptiles eyes blinked slowly, the purple eyes showing exhaustion when they opened.

"Shift back, please. I don't like you in this form." Krystal responded, watching the massive creature shift it's weight. It slowly crawled to it's feet, lowering it's head in the small notion of a bow.

"As you wish, princess." The dragon responded, blood still flowing out of her wounds. Slowly, the dragon's form began to shrink, scales melting back into skin, horns turning into hair, a tail completely shrinking into nothing, black color turning to a tan. With the shift completed, the female knight stood tall in front of Krystal, her armor still battered and beaten, but slowly mending itself. Her breathing was slightly labored, dull purple eyes glancing in the distance. The shifter sat down, sensing Krystal's concern for the were-wolves return.

"Knight, what about the wolves? They could come back with the whole pack, and I don't think you can take them." Krystal started to panic, pacing around the sitting shifter.

"They won't return." The knight responded, cleaning the dirt out from under her nails, completely unfazed by the situation at hand.

"How do you know?" Krystal asked, watching the Knight's movements as she eased back to her feet.

"Dragons don't exist in the shifter world. Haven't been heard of since before humanity's time. We are what shifters tell their pups for nightmares, we were the living devils." The knight's eyes flashed with pride, the dark violet color returning. "It's not fun tho. You are the most feared creature of all, so everyone avoids you when they figure out who you are." The knight added, a frown appearing on her face.

"You....think your a monster?" Krystal asked, feeling foolish immediately after.

The knight gave off a laugh, shaking her head. "See? Even you know." The knight started limping away from Krystal, sensing something that she couldn't. She picked up her silver sword, sizzling against her skin, and sheathed it away. She also picked up her dented helmet, covering her head once more. "We've got to move." The knight stated, letting out a low whistle, which was answered with a whinny. The dark war horse, followed by Carmella, trotted over to it's master, dancing lightly on his toes. "Down Thunder." The knight ordered, regaining control of the giant beast. Carmella was calm, approaching Krystal with her head down low.

"You damn horse, you scared me." Krystal stated, grabbing her horse's reins, fearing to let her go.

"We should go." The knight urged, jumping onto Thunder, circling me and Carmella.
