That weekend they went to see an action adventure movie. They even shared popcorn. Sarah accidentally touched Grant's fingers when they both reached for the popcorn. She wanted to feel his touch even if it was only by accident.

When the movie ended and they were leaving the theater, Grant said, "I hope that wasn't too violent for you. I don't do chick movies."

"It was fine." she replied. "I enjoyed it."

"Good," he said, grabbing her hand. "I'm glad."

They held hands until they reached Grant's truck. Sarah's heart was pounding. Was Grant starting to like her a bit more? She hoped so. Maybe it was just a reflex.

Her bubble burst several days later when Grant phoned her in the afternoon.

"Don't make any dinner for me tonight, okay?" he said. "I have a date this evening."

"Oh," she responded, trying not to sound shocked. "Okay."

"My assistant set it up with one of her friends, so I feel obligated to go," Grant added, sounding less than thrilled about going.

"Well, I hope you have a good time," she said, trying to sound sincere.

They hung up a few minutes later.

That night, Sarah tried hard not to think about Grant being on a date. Was she jealous? Probably. The thought of sharing him with someone else was almost unbearable. She had grown quite attached to him. She didn't think it was the pregnancy that made her feel that way, either.

Sarah was watching the news on the big screen television that night when Grant came home. He sat beside her on the couch.

"Hi," she said, trying to be nonchalant. "How was your evening?"

"It was okay," Grant replied, shrugging. "The lady wasn't really my type."

"Oh," she said, trying not to smile in relief. She was dying to ask him what his type was, but she didn't want to be disappointed by his answer.

They watched the news for a while in companionable silence. Finally, Grant asked her if there were any leftovers in the fridge.

"Sure, there's plenty," she answered.

"Great. I'm starving," he replied, getting up to go to the kitchen.

Sarah hoped Grant liked her cooking. She'd tried a new recipe now that her sense of smell seemed to be back to normal. She still felt sick sometimes, but it wasn't as bad as it used to be. The second trimester seemed to be way better than the first.

"This is delicious," Grant said when he came back to the living room with his bowl of food.

"I'm glad you like it," she answered, blushing. "It's a new recipe."

Sarah started to feel tired before the news ended, so she excused herself and went to bed.

Before Sarah drifted off to sleep, she found herself wishing that Grant was dating her. He would make a loyal, devoted boyfriend. But she was too shy to find out if he would ever want to ask her out for real. Just because he held her hand at the movies didn't mean she was his girlfriend. She obviously didn't know enough about men to interpret their actions. All she knew for sure was that Greg was definitely not boyfriend material. It was ironic how two people with the same genetics could be so different.

The next afternoon Sarah was going to meet a client so she had to dress up in one of her new maternity outfits. Grant came out of his office just as she was leaving.
