A/N: Okay, before anything, I know there are certain ways of looking at things especially a deep/shady tweet (lyrics) like that. I asked a couple of friends about their opinion on the meaning of that tweet and most of them said;
"That it is funny if you just hold on to the past because it's not even there for all that matter. And the fact that you can't let go, it's pathetically laughable. So, when the Angel looks down from above, she/he laughs at the fact that they did such stupid thing."
See? That's understandable. But do you know how I took it at first? Okay, from what I know, this song is a tribute to all the Directioners who aren't here today, who gave in to the Devil, who couldn't make it through, who had enough, who took their own lives. (Mind you that this is not confirmed by the boys yet but, it's a very, very strong opnion.) Therefore, the Angel is dead and looking at the persona in this song from above. Well, this brought me to my opinion on the tweet which is;
"That once in their lifetime (no pun intended), they had beautiful memories together, because clearly the word 'Angel' refers to someone who is very dear to the persona. And now that the Angel is gone, all that's left is their memories when they had a blast, well in this case, they had a laugh. So the persona asked the Angel that does she/he look at them when they were younger and having lots of fun and does the Angel laugh at the wonderful memories because the persona does. The past is the only beautiful thing he/she has of the Angel so what else can they do but to hold on to it and laugh?"
Honestly, the more I read the tweet, the less sure I feel about my own opinion. It can be anything, really.
But anyway, I have a poetry written based on that tweet and that thought. So,
++++++++++
Hey Angel. Do you look at us and laugh
When we hold on to the past?
Because everything now is all gone
Since you sang your last song.
Have our memories ever made you smile
When you put them back on rewind?
And has it ever stopped your cries
When our picture came to your mind?
I still dream of you, you know?
Your beautiful face while you danced in that white dress
I still remember you, you know?
Your beautiful heart, like the pendant on your chest.
Though, it is okay that you didn't stay
I'm not saying I don't mind but, I'll be fine
Just a little grey that you didn't say
Your last goodbye before you fly.
Hey Angel. Would you promise me one thing?
That you'll let go of now as we are both breaking
And just hold on tight to the past
When we both had a very great laugh.
-Nik.
