45 Minutes After First Contact

(Gage & Nickolas' POV)

"Medical should be right through here." a deep voice echoed out of a vent. "Did we lose them?" another voice asked "Fuck if I know. Im more worried about the rest of the team." said the deep voice. The vent cover was then kicked off the henges sending it flying to the otherside of the room with a loud bang.. Gage dropped down from the vent and landed on the dirty marble floor stumbling a bit. Nick followed behind him sticking the landing. but frantically began dusting himself off. Gage walked over to the active public map on the wall and began typing in coordinates. "What the hell were those things back there, they were basically shrugging off bullets "Nickolas asked behihind him still dusting himself off. Gage didnt respond he only continued typing into the Public Map. "What are you doing?" Nickolas asked curiously. "A tram station is on the other side of that door," Gage motioned towards the door behind them. ", and I am going to siphon the energy from this map to this." Gage unhooked his Holographic Data Guide (HDG) from his chest and disassembled it revealing several wires "And what will that do." Nickolas asked as Gage connected the HDG wires into the Public Maps console. "Well it could get us a working tram system for a few minutes." he smirked still focusing on the console "or it could overload and blow my arms off." he said looking back at Nickolas grinning..

Nick opened his HDG and began to established a COMM with Jessica "Its not going to work man the Klots Satellite Array doesnt have any power. No power. No COMMs." Nickolas ignored him. "Jessie?" he asked followed by a long silence. Nickolas began to breathe anxiously "Jessie, I dont know if you can hear me but... if you can, im okay... im near the medical bay but im going to find you okay? I promise" he said followed by a long silence. "I love you.." he said in a feint whisper before ending the COMM to return back to Gage.

-Gages POV-

I stood there next to the tram station door waiting on Carter and I couldnt help but thinking about Ellie. My helmet then folded into my suit and I took a deep breathe reaching down and grabbing a picture of me and her out of one of my pouches. I found it lying on the floor when Ellie was napping. I remember how we met on the Sprawl..... how we wouldve died without each other... especially me.... at the time she was just a simple SEC Pilot who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.....and I was just.. well.... I was-

"Gaaaaage" a young female voice hissed silentley almost echoing in my head. "Ellie?" My eyes searched frantically around the room for the source until I heard it again. It wasnt Ellie but it felt so familiar. It was coming from behind the tram station door. I quickly looked back for Carter "Carter?" I called for him. but received no answer.

"Ring Around The Rosie,"

The voice began to sing.. My heart began pounding and my breathes began to become short and heavy, I was panicked and confused.

"Pocket Full Of Posies,"

I grabbed my pistol and aimed the lasersight at the door slowly reaching my hand towards the open button on the door pad quickly glancing behind me for Carter again.

"Ashes To Ashes,"

The door slid open and the end of a bloodied dress disappeared around the edge of a corner.

"We All.. Fall.. Down,"

I started thinking about running for the Tram and leaving but I couldnt just leave Carter here so that option was off the list. My mind was racing and a lump was beggining to develop in my throat.

"Ring Around The Rosie,"

I slowly walked to the corner checking over my shoulder for Carter. "Carter!?" I whispered and still no reply. I pressed my back against the wall readying my pistol.
