Gage kept looking back at the cross in tge middle of the room "What do we do with her?" I looked at the cross confused "With who?" "The girl down there" Gage released me and walked to the edge of the balcony and pointed "See right the-" Gage stared at the cross in suprise and back at Nicholas "Nick... come here" Nick pecked Jessica on the cheek and began walking to Gage. They got close and started to whisper to each other Gage turned and looked at us. "We need to search the area for supplies, lockdown all exits and entrances, fortify the area, we're not moving until we have a way off the Klot."

Several Hours Of Prep Later

I stood in the middle of the room attempting to establish COMM with the Montana "Montana, This is Echo 3-3 and Alpha 2-1, we have contact with hostiles and are requesting immediate EVAC." I waited for a response. Nothing. "Sai, powers still out." I heard Tex yell from her post. 'Damn' I thought as I deleted the contact tab. "Okay nothings getting in here any time soon." Gage said staring at the several barricades we set up. I walked over to the small makeshift bunk area we had set up and sat down on the floor when I realized Jessica was walking my way. She walked over to me and sat down grinning. "Hey Sai" she started. I looked at her and her dark hair was now bobbed. "Yes?" I asked "Nicholas told me something he noticed but uhm...." My eyes narrowed at her ".. Nicholas said Gage has dealt with.. 'this' before?" " Well technically WE have dealt with this before." I said recollecting. "it started on the USS Sprawl.... we met during the outbreak and at first I really didnt want his help but him and this one asshole, Jacob Stross, escaped from the looney bin and Gage ended up running into me after my crew was butchered...." I stared at my boots "and what happend to Jacob?" she asked. I chuckled "Gage stabbed him in the head with a screwdriver." she made a concerned face. "When I said they escaped the looney bin I meant it, Gage was being treated for Dementia and Hallucinations, Stross had the same problem.... the only diffrence is Gage fought it better and when Stross lost it he tried to kill Gage." She looked at Gage and the back at me "You sure, that sounds kind of... serious" she said staring at Gage" "We cured it before it overwhelmed him" I looked at Gage who was smiling at one of Aleks' jokes. "Hes diffrent from everyone else" Jessica said. I grinned at her comment "Yeah.. he sure is."

We continued to talk about Gage, Carter, and other things that were irrelevant to our situation until Gage Aleks, Chris, and Carter came over to us. "We cant stay here much longer." Gage said with grim look as I stood up. "With the power out we cant establish COMMs and we will eventually run out of oxygen if power doesnt cycle through engineering,, Me and Aleks already spotted several gravity panels missing and the last thing we need is us floating around in darkness" "Or having the ship fall into a planet, neither way we would be fucked" Aleks added. I glanced at Chris and Nickolas who stood together checking each others gear. "W-Wait, Your leaving?" I asked him, my heart beginning to sink. He gentley grabbed my arms and embraced me in a hug "But..I just got you back" I held him tighter "I dont want to lose you again." I whimpered as a tear ran down my face. he looked at me and brushed the tear off of my cheek "Ellie.. Ill be back... Were going to get out of here but I need you to stay here and protect the outpost with Jessica, Preyt, and Texas."

Nicholas grabbed Gages shoulder "Im going to stay with them." Gage looked at him. "Preyt may need some help if things go wrong and... I dont wanna leave Jess here." Gage stared at Carter with feirce eyes and silentley nodded to him "Take care of them... all of them." Gage stepped back and Nicholas walked over next to Jessica who quickly embraced him. "I will." he said. Gage looked back at me, still in his arms, "The command bridge is just 2 elevator lifts away, it shouldnt even take us an hour to get there... Ellie," he looked down at our feet ", I love you... I always will okay? when we get back home we will retire and we can settle down... and start a family. If you want that is." he said with a grin. I stared into his big brown eyes and chuckled as another tear rolled down my face. "Promise?" I asked wiping the tear away "Promise. " he said smiling before we shared possibly the last kiss we would ever have. Gage, Aleks, and Chris checked their weapons and armor one final time and began walking to the church exit. I watched Gage and the rest as the doors opened. He was the only one that looked back. He gave me a charming smile and a wink as the doors closed and autolocked behind him and I could feel my heart drown. The only thing I could do is hope and wait for him to return.

I walked over to the churches marble stage and sat down and propped myself against the cross. I sat there by myself and stared around at the last of us. Jessica and Nicholas laid together, cuddled on one of the makeshift bed areas, Preyt and Tex patrolled the front of the church entrance together, for once not fighting, but instead sharing scavengened food, then there was me, cold and alone. I began to remember how I felt with him around. I began to remember how selfless he was when it came to me. He was all I ever wanted and I couldnt imagine not seeing his smile everyday. My nervousness began to show so i began to sing. Come As You Are by Yuna silentley to calm my nerves.

Tears began filling and dropping from my eyes as memories of us rushed through my mind as I sung.. From the time he rescued me I always loved him even if at the time I didnt want to admit it, I did. But if I was given the opprotunity to go back and change anything, I wouldnt. Why? because he was worth it all. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the rush of memories as i slowly dosed off to sleep.
