Can't Get A Break

"After a hard day of guarding the docking station, arresting urban "artist", doing complicated paperwork, and patrolling the outside of the USS Klot, I can finally relax and lay down in my barrack... about goddamn time!" I said in my head silently as I took the final piece of armor off. I sat in my bunk, which was a pod like living capsule inserted into the wall and was long enough for 2 grown adults and tall enough to sit on your knees. I stared at the pictures of The Old Age hanging on the inside of my bunk, back when we still lived on earth, when we had the Eiffel Tower, the easy jobs, and the huge skyscrapers. "Better here then there." said a deep voice at my door. Gage stood there leaning against the door, his helmet folding into his suit as if he had just finished patrolling..

Gage was a tall man, was averagely muscular and quite tan . He had curly but messy brown hair and deep brown eyes, which if I may add he had a scar over his left eyebrow due to a riot when the citizens of the USS Klot were let out of cryosleep, he also had a 5 o clock shadow which only meant one thing...he hadn't had a day off in a while. "Don't tell me we have even more work" I groaned as I fell into my bunk "Maaaaaybe" he said playfully which I followed with a groan "I was just checkin on you seein how your likin the new room" he said with a grin "it's a little bigger than the last one it's actually a room and not a bunk stuck in the wall like the other four." he sat there and stared out of the window looking at something we were passing. I eventually turned and looked at it as well. It was Aegis 5. The Planet Of Angels. I don't know how it got the nickname but from everything I've read or heard about it, it has 1 night every month due to it's two suns, a red sun named Helios, and a blue sun named Titus. I also heard its breathtaking there, even if the weather is below freezing it's quite a sight. I've always wanted to go but I've never been assigned to it. We sat there staring at it until Gage interrupted "Well... Ain't that some shit" I stared at him before laying all the way down then I curled up . I heard him walk closer and I heard him crouch down "Don't get comfy sweetheart we got work to do" he whispered into my ear. I groaned lazily as I stood up from my bunk "Can't we just stay in here for a bit longer just me and you, alone, in the dark" I asked jokingly while rubbing my hand down his chest. I could tell he wasn't interested "maybe after were done" he said smirking "Pweeeeease" I begged "This one will be easy I promise" "Alright.." I said disappointed as I put my armor back on and followed him out the door.

"So where we goin?" i asked curiously "you'll see" Gage said turning his head back at me grinning. The USS Klot was a great space vessel and was always spick and span so finding places would be easy but also difficult due to the massive crowds and the long walk. We walked down the long apartment corridor, by the elementary school, by a church, which Gage despised due to him growing up in an over religious town as a child. Eventually we ended up in the "market" surrounded by crowds of busy civilians. Gage pointed at the door on the other side of the large area "there it is" he yelled at me over the loud noises of work and busy society. "jeez were never gonna get through this" I said as several citizens bumped into me. Gage turned around and grabbed my hand and pulled me close to him and began pushing people out of our path, yeah it may have been asshole-ish but we got to the door which automatically unlocked and opened once Gage scanned his SEC keycard.

We immediately stepped through and continued walking after the door autolocked. We were in the political district now. We entered the SEC headquarters and walked straight to Commander Jonah Carsins office. As I entered I glanced around the room to see my closest friend, Texas Attano, observing a holographic layout of a planet, Tex was a beautiful genius in about her young 30s and was about 5,7 with short blonde hair and blue colored eyes, which was the complete opposite of my medium lengthed black hair with a small blonde streak in it. I would usually let my fringe fall over my right eye .... Sometimes id envy her eyes though... she had normal eyes unlike me.... i have heterochromia so my right eye is light blue while the left eye is brown... Thank goodness for colored contacts...."Hi Tex!" I yelled at her happily. She glanced over her shoulder and smiled then waved and went back to observing the holograph. There was also Gages bestfriend Jonathen Preyt, a cocky asshole who knew no manners, stood about 6 ft tall and had the IQ of a mentally handicapped gorilla. He stopped polishing his armor "Hey Sai did your boobs get bigger since last time" he said with a smirk as I walked by. Gage glared back at him which made John return to polishing his gear silently.
