Lies. That's all I hear, so it's all I know. Does anyone truely love me? Does Riley even love me? We haven't even talked since the kiss. She's been avoiding me at school. How are you just going to kiss me then just shut me out? That's it.
"Why won't you talk to me? I need you! Why would you kiss me then just avoid me?! RILEY-!" I quickly hang up, not wanting to start yelling. It's just a voicemail anyway, it's not like she'll listen to it since she won't even talk to me.
Everything was fine. Everything was perfectly fine before Texas. But no. Lucas had to- I HAD TO! IT WAS MY FU-.. I take a deep breath. It was Riley and I's fault. We made him go. We made him ride the bull. We made him go to Texas. And, of course, we had to go with him too. And he jus- he almost kissed me. HE ALMOST FREAKIN' KISSED ME I JUST CAN'T- but he didn't.
Riley di- I'm broken out of my thoughts by my phone ringing. I pick it up, seeing that's it's Riley and my face immediately heats up. I soon answer the phone. "H-hello?.." I stuttered out. I sounded scared. Shoot. "Hey.." She starts quietly, "I'm sorry.. That I haven't talked to you in a while.. Well, since the kiss.. I just thought that you did-" I quickly stop her in her tracks. "I'm coming over." I soon hear her gasp. "Wait- Maya- No-!" I quickly hang up before she can fully object to me coming over.
I leave, going on my way to Riley's. I'm looking at the ground, not wanting to deal with people.. Or even look at them either. As I'm walking, I run into someone, knocking me down. "Hey, watch where you're going." I say with a twinge of anger and annoyance. I pick myself up, looking ahead of me, seeing Riley right infront of me.
