Chapter 5

I stood on the stage,

glancing around nervously my body is shaking and my feet are ice cold

despite of my makeup i know I'm getting pale as snow right now

when the emcee happen to pick my name in the bowl i immediately froze,

but then decided to go to the stage since the spotlight was on me

I looked around and see Ed giving me a bright smile and a thumbs up,

she is beside a handsome blond in his mid twenties i guess but i can really tell that she likes him

"Okay Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you the beautiful Irisian Martinez, 24 years of age she is single and available"

the crowd cheered and applauded,

My palms are starting to sweat but then I composed myself and give them a smile

"Now bachelors ready your pockets starting bid is $10,000,000" the emcee said grinning

I stared at him wide eyed but immediately dismissed it

$10,000,000 is too much! I thought then I remembered that this party consist of rich people not to mention billionaires from huge business corporations.

"$15,000,000.00"

"$25,000,000.00"

"$50,000,000.00" Lucca shouted, making me alarmed

oh god! pls. no pls. no! i dont want to be stuck with him not that he has a reputation of bedding women he just met

"$80,000,000.00" a loud masculine voice boom the place but then i didn't really recognized the appearance since everyone is on their feet and yelling for what seems like their excitement

Lucca stared at the guy with distaste

"$100,000,000.00" Lucca yelled grinning, assurance crossed his face

now i want to ripped that grin out of his, argh!

the guy earlier stared at Lucca, tilted his head to the side giving him a smirk

"$1,000,000,000.00"  

the crowd went silent and I can just see their mouth hang open as well as mine

the emcee break the silence-- no one dared to speak,

I looked at the guy and really focused my attention to his but I just can't seem to capture his face, it was quite dim in his area

But I can see that he is an acquaintance to Mrs. Reynaldine since they are on the same table or maybe I was wrong? 

"$1-$1,000,000,000.00 going once............going twice................"

the crowd once again went silent i looked at Edeloise and she's giving me the look as a mischievous smile escape her lips

I saw Lucca sat on his chair and slumped his shoulders feeling defeated, 

And I almost thanked all the gods that have seen my struggles, now what I need to do is to see the bidder hoping that we can arranged the date I owe him...not that I'm complaining, I just feel hesitant 

$1,000,000,000.00 is way too much, even a year of working over time everyday won't be enough to earn that much money plus its not that I came here just to date someone...( someone...just not Mr. Hunter )
