ONE WEEK LATER :
Its been weird without Ashton. I've been finding myself crying and complaining lately, because Ashton could always turn a bad day to a happy smiley day. Ashton was like the brother me and Cody never had.
Speaking of Cody, he hasn't been much better either. But we're trying to look on the bright side, we now own a crummy gas station right across the street from us. Great.
On my way to therapy today, I almost crashed my car because I was crying a river over Gods knows what. This whole thing just messed up my life even more.
I walk in through the glass door to where I was just a little over a week ago. I sit in the same seat I sat in a little over a week ago. I get the same awful pain through my head I had a little over a week ago. Luke must be near.
I look around and I see the crystal blue eyes I was searching for, striding over to me. I smile up at him and get up from my seat to talk to the boy. "Hey Luke."
"Jessica," He greets me with a toothy grin and a small side hug. "It's been awhile since I've seen you. How you've been?"
Well, I'm better now that my headache is over and that I can see the pretty blue in your eyes that I've been thinking about nonstop, what about you?
"Fine actually."
He sucked in a gust of air and exhaled before he answered, "Not to be rude, but if you were fine you wouldn't have a tear stained face." Oh. Guess it's noticeable.
But I'm not surprised. Even if I didn't have a meltdown in my car, it wouldn't be hard to notice that I'm upset. I put no effort in how I look today. The knotty hair and no makeup says it all.
'It's along story,' is all I can say back. But when he tells me he has time, I realize I don't want to share my personal problems with some intern with a lip ring. I don't want to cry in front of a random stranger with piercing blue eyes. Why would he even care anyway?
Thankfully, Mrs. Gen called me back for my hourly session. I sped as fast I could to the back of the room to avoid Luke. Before I shut the door of Mrs. Gens office, I looked back at Luke, who was looking directly back at me.
With concern in his eyes.
