My somewhat fully developed eyes opened to a bright and sunny day. Or so what I assumed. The sound of chirping blue birds came through my colorless window, which was a tad open letting in a summer breeze.
Another day filled with more disappointments, I thought to myself.
I would have to wake up Cody, make him breakfast, leave for therapy, come home and wait for another pointless day to fly by.
I dragged my feet to the room next to me, or known as my little brother's room. He slept on his mattress on the floor peacefully, well his lamp laid on the floor right next to him. That's all we've got for him. And by we I meant me and my selfish mother.
She automatically thinks she doesn't have time for us kids because shes a 'famous actress', when her show ended 17 years ago. Because she had me. Its sad because Cody said he's only seen her smile on her TV show.
Now she's a drunk who never comes home.
So now I have to take after Cody by myself. He always asks me when mom is coming home and it breaks my heart even more because we see less and less of her each visit, I'm starting to think one day she'll leave. For good.
And I'll be left with just Cody and not so useful colorblind eyes.
