A Text, A Gift, and A Warning

A week had passed since Louis and I had had our little late night talk. I'd been feeling about the same as I had before our talk, but refused to let it show.

I groaned as my phone went of on my bedside table, blaring "Warrior" by the Beth Crowley right in my ear. I lazily grabbed it and sighed when I saw it was a text from Louis at this ungodly hour of 6 am. I read the text, only to leap out of my bed and rush around to find clothes.

I'm leaving in 15 minutes, if you wanna join my family in seeing me off. :)

After I had found a decent pair of jeans and a tee shirt, I grabbed my phone and a little wrapped present from the bedside table, and dashed out the door. I called a quick "Be right back!" to my mum, who I assumed was still asleep. I ran towards the Tomlinson's house, only realizing after I tried to run on the street that I had forgotten shoes in my mad dash to get out the door. So, I ran on the grass, mentally laughing at my own stupidity.

I finally got to their house, panting but grinning. The whole Tomlinson clan was outside, hugging and saying goodbye. I waited until they'd all had a turn, watching with a small smile at how nice he was being to his sisters. He picked up Phoebe and spun her around, and then did the same with Daisy when she begged him to. I walked towards him once he was done, grinning. He laughed and held his arms out to give me a hug as well.

"I was just starting to think you weren't gonna come." He jested, and I slapped my hand to my heart, gasping dramatically.

"And miss seeing you for the may be the last time for what will be months?! What kind of friend to you take me for?" I teased right back, and he chuckled. I smiled, and then remembered the small package in my hand. I held it out to him and grinned excitedly.

"I got you a little something to remember me by. For when you're all big and famous." He rolled his eyes at the last part, but took it and opened it, a smile growing on his face when he saw what it was.

A leather wristband with our names and an infinity symbol carved into it.

"it's just like the one you lost!" I explained happily, and he laughed.

"I did not lose it. The ocean stole it from me." He tried, but I rolled my eyes.

"Whatever. It's back, so we match again!" I held mine up next to his, the only difference being that where his was all leather, the infinity sign on mine was a gold charm that hung between our names. He laughed and pulled me into a tight hug. Despite the sharp stab of pain, I hugged back, because I didn't want him to worry about me while he was gone. He pulled back and smiled, then turned and walked towed his car. I sighed and ran in front of him, blocking his path.

"Now, listen here, Tomlinson. I expect you to either call or text me every chance you get. I want to be one of the first to know how each and every week goes. Because, I swear, if I have to wait a week to find out what happens, I will personally drive up there and yell at you. Got it?" I warned him, but my serious tone was ruined by the small smile that wouldn't leave my lips. He saluted me, trying not to laugh.

"Ma'am, yes ma'am!" He shouted, and I barked out a laugh.

"And don't you forget it!" I wagged my finger in his face, then stepped out of the way. He grinned and got into the car, starting it and closing his door. He rolled his window down and waved to us.

"Bye guys! Wish me luck!"  He called as he put the car in reverse and backed down the driveway. I joined the Tomlinsons in a chorus of "Good luck," and we all waved after him as he drove away, giving two short honks by way of farewell.

I was still waving, even after he turned out of sight. My hand then dropped to my side, and the smile disappeared from my face. I was alone now.

I turned to head back to my house and wait. To wait for a text, to wait for a call, to wait for the first episode to air. Because waiting was the only thing I could do now.
