My beloved Alexandra,
I'm writing this letter because once the bees enter your life when you turn 17, everything will change. Yes, I knew, I knew and if I was still alive now, I would do my best to help. But I can't, because our faiths and destinies lie ahead of us, with no one able to stop them even if you find a way to cure your past.
Now I know you have a lot of answers, but by the time you get this, there will be no time left to answer the ones that are trapped in your heart. For now, let's just focus on the history of your powers and the future that you so desperately fear, don't worry my child, don't listen to the idiots in red cloaks or the stupid people who might stare at you, you're perfect. Like God intended you to be.
But as I was saying, the history of your powers start with your great grandfather, Astrophius Dumont, a scientist. He was researching what made the bees choose the power of our wielding and what choices in life could influence that one choice that will define your powers. He got two natures of power, the Dark and The light and first researched them separately.
"You see," he said to his favorite granddaughter Lillith.
"What am I supposed to see?" I said.
"The light responds to the dark, as if it's not supposed to fight it but to endure it and evolve with it," "But grandfather if it's not supposed to destroy it, why do people fight the battles they fight among there nature?"
"That's simple, you see The Hive hasn't always been around, far before your time there was one true warrior for Light and one for the true Darkness. They were friends and searched for the truth behind their destiny."
"But if they were friends.." I started curiously.
"No, little one, listen to your grandfather." He said as he put his finger on my lip and smiled.
"The Hive is an organisation led by a super intelligent breed of bees who carry along the biggest arcane legends and things conspiracy theorists would only dream. It chooses for you not because of you and that's what they both just didn't understand."
"They wanted more, they wanted power and as the Light ancestor stopped searching, the Dark ancestor went on and caused something called, the Endless Night, the people of earth weren't able to see the sun for two months."
"But when the Light ancestor tried to stop him, they conflicted in a clash so great, the scars are still felt by most of the wielders when they are among each other." He said looking away.
"Furthermore when the bees tried to take away their powers, which is clearly stated that if there is any destruction to the world as it is the person causing it, shall either be destroyed or extracted from the program, they threw in their hands to combine their powers one last time, resulting an incredible light, shining as a beacon to all, which brought the face of a woman." He said.
"The sybelline." I said and he nodded slowly and gave my head a bit of time to organise my thoughts.
"So, why are you doing this, why are you combining light with dark?"
"You see child, there can't be all good, but there can't be all evil neither, the first Dark wielders could face the light of dawn, but because of the Endless Night their ancestor unearthed, they could never see the dawn of day from outside of the shadows."
"But one day, light and dark won't fight anymore, their shall be people who guide you in the process and one day like the sybelline said, there will be one who can handle both, the girl without tears." "I'm scared grandfather, what if something goes wrong, what if people don't like her?"
"Children.." He started laughing and went back to his research.
A few years later, something terrible happened, I enhanced the power of Light but in order for me to keep my powers, I had to marry one of Light, so I never married. I still had my powers, you know, before you were conceived. I used them quite wisely and hope you do to young woman. Your father was pure Darkness and as the people got wind of your arrival they tried to destroy us and you in the process.
So we fled and hid under a bridge until an old woman who kept whispering "Alexandra, Alexandra" ordered us to follow her, we were desperate for hiding and even if it meant that she would eventually killed us, at least I would know that I had done my best for us, for you. When we knocked on the door where the old woman disappeared it automatically opened so we walked in. As soon as we laid foot there an old man who was sitting between the shadows, discarded his true form and took his human form for a while to able to talk to us.
"Welcome, Lillith and James." He said as he smiled.
"Wait.. How do you.." Your father tried to bring out, but the man closed his eyes and shook his head. "There isn't time for that," he softly said.
"Please go into the cellar, where I will keep you in hiding, you see your daughter, one of light and darkness, will bring these Godforsaken people to just, they can't live without a queen and a queen she shall be, after she saves the world." He told us while pointing at my belly.
"Saving the world?" I said as I raised my eyebrows and rubbed my belly.
"Yes, she will be most powerful of all, even the Elders wouldn't be a match for her powers."
"I.. I can't believe it." Your father said excitedly as always when things involved you.
"I'll explain as soon as we get to the cellar which by now isn't such a bad idea because I can feel Dark wielders seeping from the nightly shadows," he said as he pointed to the book shelf.
He pushed a book about the flora and fauna of Egypt to the front which caused the shelf to be blown open by the wind.
Inside there was a big staircase up, which led to the attic and one down which led to the cellar. From downstairs the old woman called us again by the name of "Alexandra, Alexandra" and as we ran to follow her, she disappeared again, leaving us inside the cellar of a Darkness wielder who knew more about you, about our child, than we did. We heard noises and footsteps, a voice kept demanding to show them the entire house to see if they're not here. But the Dark wielder lied screaming that he had never even met us, causing them to be divided about the situation and eventually leave the house.
When the footsteps were getting further and further away from the house, the man went right through the floor and landed on his feet into the cellar but when we looked up, the ceiling was still in tact.
"James and Lillith, one of true Darkness and one of true Light, for generations your family has been inside one nature form, no light has gone to darkness, no darkness has tried to go to light." "You have the purest forms of nature, as it is, but what if one day, before people get their nature chosen for them, they can choose for themselves?" He asked.
"Well my grandfather used to say that, but it's impossible, because of The Hive, they would never accept our decision." I said.
"I can tell you that there are people in such deep involvement with The Hive that they can feel they're getting weaker, they need a leader and your daughter is that leader." He said while again, pointing at my belly, at you.
He brought us to a secret hospital for people who weren't people, for us, the Wielders and asked the people to take care of me because I was almost going into labor and the stress had been so much that I couldn't stand on my own anymore. He asked us one last thing before he went away. "Send her to me, when she's old enough, when she understands, when she turned into the princess of both Light and Darkness." He said and we nodded to confirm.
When you were born, the old woman returned in the corner of the room and walked up to you, she smiled and said, "Alexandra" again, crying this time. She smiled at both of us, walked up to me and gave me a kiss on my forehead.
It felt familiar, like there was something about that woman that I should've known, but before I could ask my questions, she had disappeared, never to return. Alexandra Dumont, purest of all Light and Darkness, princess of both true natures. I want you to go to that man, his name is Jarex The Wise, he lives in a house across the large bridge in Zoroman Town. Please, visit him, he might be able to help you.
And, yes, we've always loved you, even if it doesn't makes sense what we did, we knew it was the right thing to do, for you. I love you my child.
With love,
Your Mother, Lillith Dumont.
