After sitting down on the floor of Spencer's bedroom and moping about my loss, I managed to piece myself back together and join the others in the dance room. As expected, the three of them wouldn't drop it, but I ignored them. Even when they mentioned the flail of my arms. Despite their teasing, we did manage to find everything I needed, and within the hour we were headed to Penny's house. As the driver weaved through traffic, I hesitantly told Joey the plan.

To say I was nervous was an understatement. I was terrified. Now that I knew for sure Penny could see me; my mind wouldn't stop racing with fear of rejection. I hoped that, since the arrow guided me to her, her attraction would be mutual, but nothing was certain unless she was shot as well. If I got my arrows back, I would shoot her. Until then, I'd have to make her fall for me without the kiss of my arrow.

Spencer was clearly nervous to, but I don't think he was anywhere as nervous as me.

"Here you are kids," The cab driver said as he pulled up a block away from the house Penny was at and Spencer paid him before we piled out. When then walked the last block, before ducking down behind a parked car.

"I can't believe we're meeting them! I just wish I had something for Harley, because of her hurt ankle and all," Joey gushed as the four of us stared at the house.

Spencer nudged her. "Remember, you can only meet them if the plan goes well." He turned to me as he pulled off his backpack with all the props. "So...uh...how are we doing this?"

I swallowed thickly. Now wasn't the time to lack confidence. It was all or nothing. "Give me the fake cigarette."

Nodding, Spencer unzipped his bag and dug through it before holding out the fake discolored cigarette. "Here,"

Taking it in between my trembling fingers, I turned to Joey who had the costumes in her arms. "Give me the jacket."

Rolling her eyes, she sorted through the pile before handing me the brown coat. "I think this is stupid, you should just knock and when she answers say hi. It'd be slightly less creepy than performing on the porch for her."

Smiling sarcastically at the incompetent fool, I put on the coat. Poor girl, didn't know a thing about love. Clearly, she hadn't seen a rom com. "Trust me Joseph, this will work. There's a whole movie about it."

"Joanne. It's Joanne." She grumbled. "Anyways, what happens if this doesn't work?"

"If anything goes wrong, I've brought back up," Hermes informed as he pulled a giant green water gun out of his bag and pumped it.

I hit him upside the head. "Put that back! We're not spraying anyone with that!" I scolded. I suppose I should be grateful he showed me before using it, but that didn't make it any better. It was loaded with water to, I could hear it sloshing inside the plastic compartment.

His face fell in disappointment, but he put it away.

With another shaky breath, I stood up from behind the car we had crouched behind and with wobbling knees walked up to the door. My plan was to knock, then the moment Penny opened the door I would give her my line before she slammed it on me. As I climbed up the steps, my heart crashed against my ribcage like a storm wave on the shore. I was so nervous my pulse was a weird consistency. I was being suffocated by my fear of rejection, and it wasn't pleasant. When I got to the door, I placed the cigarette between my teeth and knocked twice. Here goes nothing.

"You got this! Just don't tell her Joey can dance better than you!" Spencer called out, making them laugh as I shot them a death glare. A look I quickly smothered because the door opened.

I twirled the cigarette between my teeth. "It's a metaphor," I said all too quick before realizing a girl with blue hair had answered the door.

"What?" She asked in confusion.
