They handed the two year old a small pink bundle. She was two months early and very small. He looked into the blanket eagerly. The small baby opens a pair of bright blue eyes and the small boy smiles.
"Dallas this is your baby sister, Maia." His mother's voice was soft.
"Maia." He repeated.
"She's your baby sister." His father said. "Yours to protect."
"I'll protect you little one, always." Little Dallas told the baby and she made cooing noises. "No matter what. I promise Maia."
