"Scared as hell." I laugh to Darry who rolls his eyes.

Darry and I have watched Ponyboy fix his hair and his bowtie in the mirror almost ten times in the last twelve minutes. Our little brother keeps rubbing the sweat off his hands and onto his dress pants and then he goes right back to fixing his tie.

"I wasn't nervous when I married Ashley, were you nervous when you married Anna?" Darry asks and I shrug.

"Not of marriage or commitment, I was scared of her father finding out." I admit.

I never got Anna's father's permission to marry Anna, the old man hated me with a passion and he wasn't going to give it to me so I just married Anna anyways. We've been married for married for seven years now with five kids so everyone is happy.

Rose is six now and she looks just like Anna, blonde curly hair and brown eyes. Darrel is four now and looks like me. Grace is three and looks like Anna again. Our twins Maia and Steve (named after my best friends) are ten months old and they both look like me. Our kids are absolutely beautiful and are the light of my life.

"I can hear you talking about me." Ponyboy speaks up and looks back at us over his shoulder. "And I'm not worried."

"Pony, you're freaking out." Darry points out.

"Whatever.." Our little brother trails off.

"Did you ever find out if Two Bit and Johnny were coming?" Darry wonders.

We haven't seen much of Two Bit since Ginger died, Ginger was Johnny's mom. We all knew that Two Bit really didn't love Ginger, they fought all the time and we all knew that he still had feelings for Maia. Two stayed because of his son who he loves more than anything. But when Johnny was about two Ginger overdosed on some drug that I can't remember but Two Bit was left as a single dad. He got a job at the Dodge Plant in Detroit and moved up there with Johnny. We haven't heard or seen them in about two years.

"No but there's always going to be room for him if he shows up." Ponyboy states. "Do you know if Maia is here yet?"

"We have Steve playing look out." I assure him.

We talk for about twenty minutes before Steve walks it to the room with his goofy grin on his face. Being a father never changed his spirit which I am thankful for, since Maia moved away he's my best friend at the ready.

"Guess who's here?" He beams and we all light up. "Maia is here and she wants to talk with everyone. Come on."

We all follow him out to the foyer where Maia is talking to Anna. She looks so grown up in her dark red silk dress that's cut up to the hip on the right side. Maia is wearing black shoes with a little heel so she's a little bit taller. Her lips are painted dark dark and her makeup is done beautifully. Her dark brown hair is half up and half down with her curls still hanging down to her mid back.

"Holy shit." I mutter and Steve laughs.

"It's hard to believe that's our Pop Tart, huh?" He laughs.

I run over to her and hug her tightly, Maia laughs before hugging me back. Darry picks her tiny frame up in a hug afterwards. Pony holds her close to him in a hug after that. We take a moment to catch up before Anna starts talking.

"So what's the big news?" My wife wonders and my best friend smiles.

"Three things." Maia starts and holds up three fingers with dark red nails. "First, I'm moving back to Tulsa."

"You're serious?" Pony asks.

"I am." She smiles. "Second, I'm getting married."

"Who's the guy?" Darry gossips and she laughs.

"You'll meet him in a second, he's just parking the car." Maia assures us. "And third, I'm going to have a baby come June."

"Really?" Anna squeals and she nods.

"I'm just about five weeks." Maia explains.

"But who's the guy?" Steve and I wonder in unison.

The door opens and a guy in dress pants, a Mickey Mouse shirt, and a blazer walks in carrying a little blond boy. He's got a goofy smile plastered all over his face and something inside all of us lights up. Two Bit Mathews is walking towards us.

"Here he comes now." Maia smiles.

Maia

That Sunday in July I ignored my coffee maker and walked towards the door. I opened the door to see someone I hadn't seen in years on the other side.

Two Bit was standing with his little blond son beside him holding his hand. Two Bit was still wearing his Mickey Mouse shirt and his hair was greased back like the hood he was proud to be. His grey eyes locked on mine and I just looked at him completely dumbfounded.

I watched as he lowered himself to his knees and little Johnny handed him a little box. Two Bit opened the box and inside was a diamond ring.

"Maia Elizabeth Winston, I have been through hell these last few years without you." He started. "I've been in love with you since you were six years old and I never should've broken up with you when you went away to school. I've been a single dad for the past two years and my boy needs a mom. My boy doesn't deserve to be raised in Detroit, he deserves to be raised somewhere he can run and play. I got a job in Tulsa and our old high school is looking for a youth councillor, it's your job if you want it. Maia, Minnie, my love. Will you make me the happiest man on the planet and tell me that you'll be my wife and a mother to little Johnny?"

This was bizarre as it was but the most bizarre thing was my answer.

"Yes, Two Bit. I will marry you."

I had been in love with boy for about twenty years now and I didn't want to wait for him any longer. Now I'm going to have my happily ever after with Two Bit Mathews. Dally would be proud.

The End!
