It's raining cats and dogs.

Ryuu stood outside princess Yona's room sighing, as she stared at the falling raindrops, breaking apart into smaller beads as they hit the ground. Perhaps 'stare' was not exactly the right word. 'Observe' might fit her action better, but then that would be an understatement. Ryuu was analyzing them. Now you'd be thinking, what was there to analyse about the rain? But no, Ryuu wasn't analyzing the rain. She was analyzing each and every droplet that falls from the sky. Next you'd be wondering how silly this girl was? That's what she thinks of herself too, but Ryuu was just being Ryuu. Always just staring, observing, analyzing, and thinking. Take for example the rain, people saw the millions of droplets that fall from the sky as a group known as 'rain', instead of seeing them as individuals, but that wasn't possible, was it? - seeing them individually. Afterall, there were just too many of them. Those droplets would disappear as they sink into the ground, and are forgotten. Even after they evaporate, condense, and fall before the same people once again. The cycle repeats, and people don't notice those droplets.

Like how they don't notice the girl. A single drop of water would never be noticed by anyone.

Ryuu was like a drop of water, the droplet would be there, but go unnoticed. Even if seen, it would be forgotten as time passes. But really, remembering her was like remembering a drop of rain in a hurricane. She lived for hundreds of years, those that knew her and those that she knew of were long gone, all except one, whose location remained unknown to her. Her appearance didn't change, she did not age, yet she isn't remembered anywhere, by anyone. As the fifth dragon, also known as the colorless dragon, she was supposed to be remembered by generations of people inside the legends.

Instead, people forget her because of it.

Why is the legendary dragon doing, as a servant in a castle, you'd ask? Yeah, as emphasized before, she was forgotten, the legend of the colorless dragon was not heard in this age. Also, she wanted to see if the great red dragon's recantation was worthy of her loyalty. But as the princess's image flashed trough her mind, Ryuu sighed, for the thousandth time that day.

Guess not.

At least not yet.

It was the princess's sixteenth birthday that day. The dragon blood of hers was tingling. Of excitement, maybe? It was telling her that something big was going to occur, for the better or worse. But Ryuu did not take it that way. She saw it as a sign of trouble. Well, you can't do anything about the fact that she was lazy.

But really, what could possibly happen? Can it really change the naive, stubborn, ignorant and innocent princess to a master that she could proudly serve under?

Highly unlikely.

The death of king II, her father, maybe? Yeah, that could be for the best. For both the princess and the kingdom.

Don't get her wrong, Ryuu did not hate King II, if anything, she was thankful of him for picking her up and making her a servant in the castle. However, the kind king, the king who disliked weapons, wars and violence, such a king could not do the country any good.

'Something is off,' Ryuu thought, as she turned to look into the princess's room, only to see the red-haired girl admiring herself in the mirror. Though Ryuu was not the most fashionable girl around, she could tell that Yona was pretty enough as she was.

Wait a minute, Ryuu's mind wandered off somewhere again. She had been thinking that something was wrong...

'Where are the guards?'

It was way too quiet. Nothing other than the rain can be heard in the silence.

Also, more importantly-

'Where's Yona?'

A/N: I wrote this chapter when I was in the 7th grade and it's really crappy, but it gets better. Just a background info to the story, Ryuu is biologically female although she's seen as a male in the castle. Long story short, she was dressed as a guy when they found her and was mistaken for a guy. She knows it but did not correct them because 1)She found it amusing and wanted to see how it goes and 2)She didn't really care about it. This is how she choose to go by a guy's name Ryuu(dragon). Ryuu's not her real name btw.
