While the night was still young, Ryuu decided to follow Hak around the place, since it was not like they gave her specific instructions on where her room was or where she should spend the night in. Ryuu shrugged. She supposed she had nothing to do rather than following Hak around the place.
"If only they had something smaller..." Hak said as he ran through the many different weapons that the small weapon stash in the village has in store for him. Ryuu concluded that those words weren't particularly directed at her, or anyone for the matter, so she stood aside and watched as the male before her examined the weapon in his hand. Under the dim moonlight, blades of different shapes and sizes gave off an eerie glow that probably would have scared most off, but the two were long used to the reflection on those smooth grey blades. Just as Hak was keeping himself busy with the many weapons that lied in a pile on the ground, a short man, probably in his forties, ran in through the corridors behind them, still in his sleepwear. Thought a robber or something was here, perhaps? He looked surprised when he saw Hak and Ryuu in the room.
"Eh? Hak-sama, what are you doing in this kind of place in the middle of the night? And whose this small guy behind you?"
'Small, he said?' Ryuu wasn't small, in fact, standing at 5'7, she was around the same height, if not, even taller than the man who made the comment. That would be considered tall for a women, but of course, when compared to the Thunder Beast, she would seem small in comparison - not to mention for a guy.
"Oh, my bad, did I wake you? And if you meant him," Hak pointed at Ryuu. "He's Ryuu, we came from the castle together with Rina."
"Oh I see...I mean- no, that's not what I meant, err, the door is broken."
"I want a small sword and a bow." Hak spoke with no regards to the man's previous statement.
"Are you going on a hunting trip or something?" The man asked.
"Hunting huh? I guess you can say that." Hak picked up a mini sword that looked the size of a dagger, and closed his eyes. "Then I'll get going."
'This guy,' Ryuu thought,'Always thinking about how others will benefit from his actions. Does he not think about himself? If he continues to act like this, no matter how many lives god threw at him, it wouldn't be enough.'
"You should take a look at the solemn face you're making right now. Rina-san wouldn't smile if she saw you like this, Thunder Beast."
"It's fine, I'm not planning to see her after this anyways."
"So that you won't change your mind on leaving?"
"..."
"I was right."
"You've always been terrifying accurate. Sometimes I wonder if you could read minds or something."
"Ahaha, that's too much praise when you know I can't." Ryuu smiled.
But of course Ryuu would be accurate more or less, wouldn't she? What did you think she was doing in the duration too long to call a life? Hak then turned to the man who had been confused for a while now, and said, "I may be gone for a while, sorry to have bothered you." He threw a bag full of coins towards the man, which the latter managed to catch with a bit of effort.
"E-eh Hak-sama you're paying for this? But you always tell us to put it on your tab-"
"Thank you for everything up till now." Hak said as he stood up, his signature weapon casually slung over his shoulders. Ryuu wondered if anyone paused to think that if it were any other person carrying the Hsu Quandao, they would be on their knees, struggling to find their balance on the ground.
