Hellbound

Chapter Ten

I woke up in a dark area and didn't recognize the place I was in. I stood up and felt taller than I used to be. I felt bigger and stronger and even heavier. I looked down at my hand and it was red, tattooed with black markings. I jumped back and screamed in fear and anger.

I was a demon and that's when I knew where I was, I was back in Hell. I looked around and there was darkness and fire everywhere. Demons walking around looking at me like humans on Earth. There were buildings and I could hear screaming coming from around me.

I sat down on the floor, I felt angry and sad of what I have done. I'm a god damned demon now, and there might be nothing I can do. I heard a familiar voice and stood up tall once more.

I saw Daeda walking towards me and he ran to aid me. "What happened?" He asked.

"I killed Kelvin" I said. "And how'd you know it was me?"

"I can sense a little of Masons life force inside of you" he said. "You killed someone who served a demon and sold his soul for yours. He wasn't a full human, nor was he a full demon. Some of your humanity is still left inside of you. Just thank God I found you before Kal did."

"So I still have a human side inside of me" I said. "How do I take it out and put down the demon?"

"You can change into a human form like I can" Daeda said. "However Angels will hunt you down more than they did before, and your soul will forever be tainted with darkness."

"What if I just stay in human form forever?" I asked.

"The demon side needs to come out" Daeda answered. "I come to Hell to regain that energy and strength. If you stay in human form in Earth for too long I will get extremely weak and you'll need to let the demon out."

"Doesn't sound too bad" I said. I lied I felt terrible about all of this. I guess the good side is that I can turn into human form for sometime. "How do I change back to Mason?"

"Focus on your human side and take a deep breathe" he said to me. I thought about Mason and took a deep breathe, I focused energy into myself and let go. I felt my body changing and I looked down to see nothing change.

"It's not working" I told Daeda.

"You might need more time" he told me. "For now we need to get you out of the opening and into my temple." He grabbed my arm and we began to teleport. Before that I felt a hand grab my shoulder and that person teleported with us.

We arrived at Daedas temple and I saw Kal holding onto me. "Looks like you changed" he said. Daeda turned around and jumped back. He blasted Kal and I did the same.

Kal flew back but quickly stood back up. I saw a swarm of bats racing to Kal and attacking him all over the place. Dracula appeared out of now where and kicked Kal in the chest. He drew his sword and looked at me up and down. He smiled and charged for Kal. Daeda did the same and they all fought together. Kal grabbed Daeda and swung him around hitting Dracula with him. They both flew into the temple and Kal started to walk towards me.

I tried back up but everything was different in this new body of mine. I fell on my back and Kal reached for me. Dracula swooped in out of no where and swung his sword towards Kal. Kal flew back and charged for Dracula. Dracula turned into a swarm of bats and once again attacked Kal.

"Let's go" Daeda said picking me up. "Dracula is more than capable of standing on his own." We ran into the temple. Daeda opened a secret door and we started to go down.

We were in a basement and it was set up like a sacrifice ritual. We stood in the middle.

"Try and change back" Daeda said. I focused my energy and took a deep breathe. I felt my actual body changing and saw myself turning back into Mason. I sighed a sigh of relief. I felt my magical energy get thousands of times stronger now that I have a demon living inside of me.

It actually felt good having my power being this high up. "Let's go back up" I told Daeda and we ran up. I saw Kal holding up Dracula and Dracula tried to kick himself off.

"Tsalb fo ygrene" I yelled and blasted a powerful energy surge at Kal and he flew back dropping Dracula onto the floor. Kal looked me in the eye and he seemed angry. He teleported away. I guess he was pissed about how powerful I have gotten thanks to his plan to turn me into a demon.

"I need to go back to Earth" I said opening a portal to Earth. I stepped through. Opening a portal would've drained my power but it only took a fraction of my strength to do it now.

I went to Sammy's apartment and knocked. She opened it and looked at me in fear.

"I can explain" I said. She closed the door on me. "Sammy please I can explain. Please!" She opened the door and let me in.

"What the hell was that?" She said to me hugging me. "You turned into a monster."

"I have something to tell you, you may not believe this but after what you saw you just might" I started. "When I was young my mother was murdered by a demon. I swore to myself to learn about demons and some magic. I accidentally opened a portal to Hell trying to bring back the demon that killed my mother. I stepped in and I found myself in Hell. There I met a demon named Daeda and he thought me how to control magic better. Since then I have hunted demons and a demon turned me into a demon. That's the short story."

"Wow" she said. "That's a lot to take in. Not hard to believe after what I saw." She hugged me and kissed my cheek. "Your still Mason and I still care about you a lot. So what're you gonna do now?"
