Hellbound

Chapter Nine

I felt the sharp metal of this monsters cleaver cut into my skin and I groaned in pain. I tried punching him but he was too fast and ducked. He punched my rib cage and I thwarted backwards. He grabbed my face and looked me in the eye.

"What are you?" I asked him.

"You know the answer to that, Mason James" he laughed. Apparently I am a very known person to a lot of different people. This man was clearly a demon, he must've been sent by Kal. But why? Kal doesn't want to kill me. Maybe a test? I'll find out soon enough.

"Kal sent you" I told him.

"Is it that obvious" he said dropping me onto the floor.

"But Kal doesn't want me dead" I said. "Why would he send you to kill me?"

"Who said I'm here to kill you? Not using half of my power." He said sarcastically and ran to me. He tackled me back on the floor as I stood up. He wrapped his hand around my throat and I struggled to breathe. I kicked him off.

"Sdanh fo eht dnuorg" I said a spell. Hands rose from the ground and held the demon down. I ran to the girl tied up and freed her. "Run." She ran away screaming.

I turned to the killer and he was struggling to break free. I stood near him and got close to his face.

"Why did Kal send you?" I asked him.

"Like I'd tell you" he said. I summoned my dagger and pierced it into his gut.

"Tell me why?" I said angrily.

"You think you intimidate me?" He asked. "I am a demon straight from Hell. Working under the command of Lucifer and Kal is much more terrifying than a human warlock like you. Ha ha ha!"

I pulled out the dagger and plunged it into another part and this time deeper. I summoned another dagger and stabbed his tooth. I lifted up the knife and the tooth popped off. He yelled in pain.

"How about you start with telling me who you are" I told him.

"You don't recognize me?" He asked. "I am darkness, I am insanity, I am the monster who creeps in the back of your mind. I am the Boogeyman."

He broke free and kicked me with full strength. I flew back and banged against the wall. He grabbed the knife and pulled it out of his gut. My holy dagger was set a flame and turned into a demon sword.

"Mine now" the Boogeyman said. He charged for me and swung. I blocked it with my other dagger but the Boogeyman kicked my knee and I fell. He kicked the dagger out of my hand and placed the sword onto my neck.

"Too bad I can't kill you" he said to me. He crouched down and looked into my eyes. "But Kal does indeed have plans for you warlock. He doesn't intend to kill you. Why do you think he just teleports away instead of ending it completely?"

Boogeyman laughed and walked away. I stood up but he turned and punched me back down. He walked into the shadows and disappeared.

First Dracula now the Boogeyman, this is getting ridiculous. I stood up and looked around me. He was gone, I couldn't feel his energy source at all anymore. He must've went back into Hell, or to go terrorize other people. Oh no! Sammy!

I ran out of the ware house and into my car. I don't have time for this I need to teleport. Teleporting drains my power by a lot, still Boogeyman must be targeting Sammy. That must be why Kal sent him, to turn me into a demon by killing someone. No, Boogeyman is a demon so it won't count. Still I have to check.

"Tropelet!" I yelled and teleported into my building. I felt weak and dizzy but I have to go to him. I ran to Sammy's apartment and knocked on the door. I heard screaming and kicked open the door. I saw Boogeyman standing behind Sammy holding her down with the demon sword placed on her throat.

"Be careful what you do Mason" he said laughing.

"Mason help me!" Sammy yelled struggling to get free from Boogeyman's grasp.

"Let her go!" I yelled. Boogeyman looked at me and smiled his wide cut smile. His sharp teeth caressed Sammy's skin and he licked her neck. "You stop that you son of a bitch!"

I charged for him and blasted him away from Sammy. I tackled him against the wall and summoned my dagger. I jammed it into his throat and he coughed out blood. He smiled and kicked me off.

"It'll take a lot more than that to kill me boy" he said. "Come in my disciple!" A man walked into the apartment and I looked at him. It was Kelvin. Sammy's abusive ex-boyfriend. He charged for me and punched my jaw. He's working for Boogeyman. Probably just for a chance to get the drop on me.

Boogeyman held me back and I couldn't move. Kelvin repeatedly punched me in the stomach over and over again until I started to cough out blood. Sammy stood up and tried to get him to stop but he smacked her onto the floor.

"You bastard!" I yelled at him. Boogeyman nodded and Kelvin walked towards Sammy on the floor. Kelvin kicked Sammy repeatedly harder and harder every time. I saw her as she spat blood and yelled in pain. "Stop it! Stop this please!"

That's when I felt it. My soul beginning to burn once more, my anger increased exponentially. I kicked Boogeyman off of me with all my strength and ran towards Kelvin. I tackled him onto the floor and punched him over and over again. He yelled in pain as I punched his jaw and his chest. He tried getting me off of him but I kept on punching him.

I saw Sammy looking at me like if I was a monster. I saw my hands get on fire and my skin turn red. I ignored it and kept punching Kelvin. I grabbed my dagger and stabbed Kelvin right in head and killed him.

That's when I realized what I just did, I just killed a human. My whole body turned red and black and I felt horns ripping out of my forehead. My teeth sharpened and my body was set aflame. I looked into the mirror and looking back at me, was a demon.
