~Jeesu and Taeyon reached the far end of the forest and saw a small hut ahead; as they walk closer towards the humble home they began to see the farmer’s wide yard, the sight and the scent of the fruits planted in there were inviting them to have a bite. The vegetables were looking so fresh and mouthwatering, that even a being that doesn’t like vegetables would love to eat it. The sudden enchantment made their stomachs growl as they realized they haven’t eaten anything for hours, the two looked at each other grinning.
“I guess we can just ask permission from the owner, I bet he is super nice!” Taeyon fixed her eyes on the crops.
“Hmm…but isn’t it weird that someone lives just outside this forest? I mean a human couldn’t survive here…” Jessu stopped her tracks and both of them though for a moment only to be interrupted when they heard the door of the hut creaked open and they immediately hid behind the trees nearby. They took a peak and saw an old man carrying a basket went out of the hut, his face looked old but his body seems energetic and is still capable of doing a lot of things. All in all he looked normal and human so Jeesu and Taeyon laughed at themselves for thinking too much about the being that lives in the hut.
“I wonder why those squirrel twins had a hard time taking vegetables from the yard…” Taeyon asked and Jeesu shrugged.
“Because that Youngmin kid is lazy and that Kwangmin guy is—holy crap!” Jeesu covered his mouth with his palms when he saw something disturbing, he was looking at the direction of the old man when a harmless bird pass by him and his wrinkly hands was able to grip the bird and he ate it whole before killing the poor thing.
“Oh hell that did not just happen!” Jeesu’s eyes were as wide as plates and Taeyon wanted to puke seeing the scene as well, now they know why it was hard taking anything from that yard.
“I bet he is not super nice now! What kind of a monster is that?” Jeesu retorted pulling Taeyon to hide.
“How the hell should I know? He definitely looks human and I don’t sense anything that could relate him to a demon, we better have a plan to get some fruits in there!” Taeyon replied panting.
“I wonder if he eats humans as well. Oh fudge look at those sharp, razor teeth! Gaah! That is just plain scary! The poor bird’s feather in his mouth…stuck! Oh the damn blood gaaah!”
“Jeesu shut up! I know you are just trying to scare me so stop it because it’s working already! You don’t have to explain the things you saw in detail! Goodness!”
“Hey! I’m just as surprise as you are! I guess we can wait for him to go back in the hut and sneak in the yard and get what we can…how about that?”
“Sounds like a plan…but Jeesu, if things get tough you know I cannot harm an innocent human right? Sure he ate the bird but that doesn’t mean he is purely evil, maybe he’s just a damn carnivore!”
“That guy is definitely not human…I guess? Don’t worry I’ll protect you Taeyon…” Jeesu’s determined eyes met hers, they stayed like this for seconds not realizing the position they have. When Jeesu pulled her to hide awhile ago she landed exactly on top of him but they were not able to notice because of the fear they felt after seeing the old man ate a bird whole. And now, with their eyes locked and a sudden silence filled the air around them, they realized how close their bodies are and began to blush madly at each other.
Jeesu coughed while Taeyon quickly got off of him and fixed herself, Jeesu just shut himself and decided not to say anything about what happened and so does Taeyon, their hearts are beating madly not sure if its fear that causes it anymore, or something else.
