Chapter One
Peytons pov:
I woke up on Saturday, at 7:36am to the sound of my parents and my annoying older sister Madison coming home. Sighing, I got out of bed and neatened the bed sheets and put on a pair of fluffy slippers and ran down stairs, finding myself face to face with my parents and Madison. Luckily I was side by side with Patrick, my twin brother, whom I love to bits.
My family is sort of... Well... Complicated. My parents have favourites when it comes to us 3 kids. My moms favourite is Madison as my mother is a fashion designer and Madison is one of her many models, And my Dad's favourite is Patrick as my dad is a football manager and Patrick is the star football player at school. Everyone has stuff in common, all except for me.
Patrick is the only one in my family who is actually nice to me, he's like my best friend, along side Mae who is, and has been my bestest friend ever since we were 3 years old. I'm so lucky to have her in my life.
After a while of uncomfortable silence and glares between Madison and myself, my sister finally broke the tension.
"Awkward..." Clever one Mads! Way to state the obvious. I would have said that out loud but Madison is not the right person to argue with. It usually ends in shouting and me storming off in a strop. Can you tell I don't get on with her?
The silence was now even more awkward than before; thanks to Madison.
Sensing the awkwardness in the air, my 'dearest' mother decided to take on the role of breaking the silence next.
"So, uh, lets have breakfast!" she exclaimed, pausing as we all looked confusingly at her. "Together!" she announced, maybe a bit too cheerfully, and strutted along into the kitchen.
We all sat around the table whilst Kristie - our amazing maid who has to put up with our family's usual drama- cooked a delicious smelling breakfast which consisted of fried eggs, sausages, beans and buttered toast. She then put the numerous dishes onto the neatly laid table, receiving many thankyous from all of us but Madison (she's a snobby little brat).
Kristie was practically family, apart from the fact that she was our maid. She lived with us and somehow got caught up in all of our family mishaps. Kristie is 44 years old, has short brown hair and beautiful hazel eyes, with a hints of green in certain lights. She is also very stylish for a middle aged woman. It was probably because she happened to live in the same household as Mom, she receives free clothes from my mother, which my mother has usually designed.
My mom tries to make me wear her 'designer' clothes, but I'm perfectly fine with just plain denim pants or sweatpants and a baggy crop-top.
After breakfast, I shoved my plate into the dishwasher and ran upstairs to get changed into casual clothes as I assumed that we were doing nothing today (as per usual). I would probably just draw or do my calculus homework.
My room was fairly large as I have a big house. It was painted white, but it had silver crochet patterns on the walls here and there. I flopped onto my bed and grabbed my phone which was laid next to me; and started to text Mae.
Peyton: Heyy gurllll. Parents are home today.. I'm sick of Madi already haha. Dunno why they're home, nothing bad has happened? I think they might have something important to say... I'll message you if anything happens. I'm still coming to yours tomorrow right??? Xxxx
