CHAPTER EIGHT
Peyton's pov:
You know when people use the term 'shitting bricks' but they're usually joking around?
Well in this case, I wasn't joking around.
I was literally shitting bricks.Today is the day where I have to go to an illegal bar and fighting club. I'm only 16, almost 17, the minimum age for the bar is 21. That's a very uncomfortable age gap!
I hear my door open and Madi casually strolls in, as if she wasn't forcing her younger sister to break many laws in one night.
"Hey, I got this for you!" She exclaims, whilst waving some sort of card in my face. Madison hands the card to me and I examine it intently. It's a fake ID with my name, a gross close-up picture of my face and my date of birth. Except the date of birth isn't real. I shoot her a questioning glance as to why she has given it to me.
"Fake ID... If you're getting into that bar tonight, you'll need that!"
I look back down at the ID, my gut sinking the more I stare at it. This will go wrong somehow, I just know it."You'll be fine" Madison starts, obviously noticing the expression on my face. "Just don't draw attention to yourself, keep a low profile. I'll glam you up so you'll look older than usual. Thankfully you look older than 16 anyway; I won't have to do much work" I sigh as she rambles on, trying not to let myself over think the situation.
"Are you sure this will work?" I ask worriedly.
"Positive. I have to go through a few rules though..." Great, I knew this was coming. Prepare for a long list...
After she's done explaining everything, I make a list of everything my older sister has forced upon me. Though it has made me a bit more optimistic about the situation. I like to be organised.
Rules:
1- Be laid back, don't draw attention to yourself.
2- If someone is looking at you a lot, pretend you have a boyfriend.
3- Although you're not staying for long, make it look like you are, get a drink and dance a little.
4- Find Dunch (Madi's friend) and explain everything.
5- Keep and eye on your drink, if anyone tries to spike it, don't drink it!
6- If anything bad happens, abort mission and leave!!
7- Don't go upstairs to the fighting range, it won't end well...That's as far as my memory stretches. I glance at the list again. It's long but reasonable, considering my age.
It's now the unbearable wait until 8:00pm when I can leave. What to do in my spare time? I then realise I have to tell my mother that I am going to Mae's. I always feel horrible lying to her, but sometimes you just have to...
I head downstairs into the lounge to where my mom is currently sitting, drinking coffee.
"Mom, I'm staying round Mae's tonight, is that okay?" Without a doubt she'll say yes, Mom doesn't care.
"Yeah whatever. Now can I watch KUWTK in peace?"
Expected answer, confirmed. Now what to do? Harass Kristie? Yep sounds great.
So I start heading into the kitchen to where Kristie spends most of her time.
"Hey, hey, hey!" I call happily. Shocked by my change of mood.
"Hello dear, someone's quite jovial today!" She calls happily, turning to face me.
"I am indeed!" I'm lying, inside I feel nauseous, like there is a pit in my stomach, growing deeper each time I think about tonight. "How are you?"
