CHAPTER ELEVENPeyton's pov:
School! Everyone's joy, right?
No
It's currently the 3rd lesson of the day, lunch comes up next... Oh lunch, the joy of eating in a rowdy cafeteria and stereotypical groups plotted everywhere... At least there's no lessons and you get to eat.
But today I'm eating alone as Mae is at an appointment. I don't really know what for, but she usually doesn't take the day off for one... hm, weird.
"Peyton, would you like to say your answer?" Mr Cillings, who is my science teacher quizzes, bringing me out of my reverie.
"Uhmmm, could you repeat the question please?" I ask politely.
"How much salt, is in the average adult human body?" He inquires, giving me an encouraging smile.
Mr Cillings is quite a nice teacher. But people use him for granted and usually mess about.
"Um, is it-" I soon get cut off my the bell, which was lucky as I had no clue what the answer was.
"Class, you're dismissed as soon as you're ready to leave." He says softly before continuing with, "Zack and Eric, I need to talk to you about your guys' behaviour, so would you mind staying behind!?" This time his tone of voice was a little more harsh.
"Yeah, I would mind staying behind, Sir." Zack replies confidently, which leads me to rolling my eyes. Eric then lightly smacks Zack on the chest to signalize him to shut up. I roll my eyes once more as I fling my backpack over my shoulder, and I begin to walk towards the door for Lunch.
"Hey, Peyton." Eric calls out to me. I turn my head to smile at him and then I proceed out of the door after shouting 'hey' back.
Weirdo...
After a while of shuffling past random people in the corridor, a familiar grasp falls upon my wrist, pulling me to a stop. I quickly turn around to see a cheery brunette standing in front of me with a shiny white smile.
"Hey." Jay simply says, not even thinking about removing his hand from my wrist.
"what do you want?" I ask in an innocent tone.
"You!" He replies. My face drops at those words... W-wha- "Hahahahahah!!" He laughs histarically. "Y-You should've seen y-your face!! HAHAHHAHAHA!" He bellows out.
Dick!
"Urgh, shut up!" I growl, removing my wrist from his grasp. I turn on my heel and storm off. After a while he runs after me. I stop in my tracks once more once I see Leah, Alisha, Trinity and a couple of Jay's friends all crowding around a set of lockers. My pulse quickens and I get a sudden ache in my neck. Once Jay reaches me his eyes follow to where my hard, cold, intimidating gaze is directed to.
"Oh." Is all he says.
Without thinking, I harshly stomp over to the massive surrounded crowd.
"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!" I screech, mainly to get everyone's attention. Their laughing immediately stops and they all turn their gaze towards me in an instant. My glare is hard and cold.
"Hahah, what? You think you're all hard? Trying to stick up for your own breed of mutts?" Leah laughs whilst giving me a bitchy glare.
Jay comes beside me and put his hand on my shoulder to comfort me, I give him a small smile to thank him for his presence. I hear Leah groan a little in annoyance.
