The Lost Prince

The Prussian Castle

Gilbert stood with Matthew in the kitchen. They stood side by side with a skillet in each of their hands. They were making Gilbert's favourite. Pancakes! Gil shuffled the pan around following Matthew and like synchronized pancake chefs they flipped the cakes at same time. Then they high fived smiling proudly.

Feliciano and Lovino snuck into the room and smelled the cakes in excitement. They ran up to the king and his tutor and looked at the cakes.

"What's that?" Feli asked.

"These are called pancakes." Matthew said placing the two on a plate. He took the plate and handed them to Feli.

"Here you go Feli, share with Lovino we have many more. Oh! Put syrup on it, trust me, the maple one on the counter." Matthew said pointing to the other counter.

"Thank you!" Feli said excitedly.

The two sat together at the island and took turns taking a bite from the large cakes. Every bite the two smiled hugely.

"These are...... good." Lovino said a bit wowed.

"They are really good!" Feli said excited.

"Where did you learn to make these?" Lovino asked.

Matthew laughed. "Well actually they were an accident... My papa was teaching me how to make crepes but my brother was distracting me and... Well... Pancakes." He said looking back.

"So you screwed up?" Gilbert asked.

"It was a good screw up." Lovino smirked.

"Thank you Lovino." Matthew said glaring at Gil.

"Hey! I didn't say it was bad!! You know they're my fav!" Gilbert defended.

Suddenly the door creaked open, Ludwig and Antonio peaked in.

"Aha! We knew you would be here!" Antonio called.

"Where else could they go." Ludwig said.

"Chasing maids?" Antonio pointed out.

Gilbert laughed. "Yeah, you wouldn't want to chase the maids around here." Gilbert snickered.

"How come? All ladies are worth chasing!" Feliciano claimed.

"Around here you're more likely to be chased then be the chaser." Matthew joined in.

Lovino smirked excitedly. "Well then let the ladies come."

Matthew and Gil looked at each other. Gil got a nasty grin and Matthew shook his head.

"Don't you...."

"Here Mattie take the other skillet I'll be back in a flash." He said handing him the other pan and running off.

"Ludwig! Stop him!" Matthew called out.

However Gilbert was already gone. They all looked at Matthew with their brows raised.

"This isn't going to be good." Matthew sighed.

They all looked to the door waiting for Gilbert to return and when he did a massive woman with long brown braids walked in. Lovinos gave twanged and feliciano ducked behind the chair.

"Bertha." Gilbert started. "These are out guests."

"Awe!" The woman said excitedly. "Aren't you two the cutest little babies I have ever seen!"

Bertha picked Lovino up and hugged him tightly crushing him till he was red.

"Lady, get off of me!" He cried. "Feli, run.... Toni! Help!" He called out.

Bertha looked down to where Feli had been sitting but he had already ran to Ludwig. When she saw Ludwig her face went love struck. She slowly put down Lovino and walked towards Ludwig. Antonio ran to Lovino trying to help him catch his breath. Ludwig kept Feli behind him as he looked up at the large woman.

"You are so..... Handsome:" she mooned. "Look at those arms, .they are so strong, a true German man if I've seen one!"

"Thank you." Ludwig said still protecting Feli.

"Oh and such a gentle man!" She cried.

Matthew snuck up beside her and patted her shoulder.

"Um, Birtha, how about you go take some treats to the hounds."

Bittha looked down at Matthew and her eyes glittered.

"Yes of course... Sweet master Williams." She said before leaving.

They all sighed in relief and Matthew gave Gilbert a warning glance.

"Told you not to chase the women." Gilbert shrugged.

"No shit!" Lovino snapped. "I almost died!"

"Lovi that's a bit over-" Antonio started.

"Dramatic." Ludwig finished a bit annoyed.

"I'm sure she'll leave you alone as long as she stays where she's suppose to. Today Gilbert has something to show you. Right master Beilshmidt?" Matthew appologized.

"Hm?..... Oh yeah!" Gilbert remembered. "When we're all done eating I have something really cool!"

Lovino and Ludwig looked at him in disbelief but the others seemed excited.

Later that evening Gilbert walked the group threw the garden and to the back of the castle. There stood something that hadn't been there 2 years ago. An entire castle wall jutted out bumpy and full of cliffs making it look just like a mountain. Water trickled down the side of the wall into a large pond full of lotus blossoms.

Matthew smiled at Gilbert remembering the beautiful falls that had made him reconsider the cocky prince and where they would run away when days looked there worst. So in memory of the falls he created one right by the castle for all to enjoy.

The twins looked in curiously I see koi fish dancing in the pool. They swished there fingers and Feli giggled as a fish sucked his finger.

"Not as awesome as the real thing, but we tried." Gilbert said.

"The real what?" Antonio put in.

"The falls. It was magical." Matthews eyes sparkled as the memory fluffed back.

"What happened to them?" Antonio pushed.

"The cave collapsed." Gilbert said sadly.

"Sorry to here that." Ludwig pitched.

"It's really cool!" Feliciano said.

Lovino looked up at the stream. "It's okay, for something man made:" Lovino shrugged.

"That means he likes it." Antonio whispered to Gil.

"Of course it does, everything I make is awesome!" Gilbert said proudly.

Ludwig and Antonio joined the twins. Antonio and Feli laughed as they played with the fish trying to show Ludwig and Lovi. Matthew caught the two stiffs smiling at there goofy friends and Matthew laughed.

"What's so funny?" Gil asked.

"Ludwig and Lovino act so tough in their own ways, yet when ever they are around the people they love, they can't help but have to hide a smile..... I think coming here was good for them." Matthew pointed out.

"I think you coming here was good." Gilbert smiled.

"For me?" Matthew laughed.

"No.... For me." Gilbert said looking down at him with soft red eyes.

"CHEESE BALL." Matthew yelled blushing deeply.
