Gilbert and Mattie sat at the table picking at their food as the other king spoke of a beautiful woman he had met in town. The two boys however were unimpressed by the story. Gilbert's face was obvious but Matthew smiled and nodded at the king to show interest. Gilbert became highly annoyed at Roma for only speaking about pretty women and not his brother.

"Do you ever think of just settling down." Gilbert grumbled.

Roma's face looked shocked and he became speechless.

"Now now Gil. I remember only a few years ago you said you wouldn't marry anyone not as awesome as you." Matthew said. "Roma must have settled down at some point or he wouldn't have had a son, no?"

Roma said nothing still and Matthews heart felt heavy as he saw the kings face drop. Gilbert looked at Roma and his eyes widened.

"Maria meant that much to you huh?" Gil said.

Matthew looked at the two intensely as if waiting for an explanation.

"I can't say I can't relate." Gil looked at Mattie and smiled.

"What are you talking about Gilbert, such heavy talk all of a sudden." Roma laughed. "Wait until you meet my grandsons! You will love them to bits."

"Ah, yes I've heard that Feliciano is very talented in the arts." Matthew pointed out.

Roma blushed proudly. "You've heard that have you?"

"It's kind of hard not to." Gilbert grouched.

"Your highness." Matthew warned.

"I guess I do gawk about him a bit!" Roma said looking off into the distance.

Gilbert rolled his eyes and Matthew threw a small pee at his forehead. Gil looked up with surprise and saw Matthews warning glare and he snapped up. Suddenly the door creaked open and they all looked to the door. A tall broad shouldered man with golden hair slicked nicely back walked in helping a younger red haired boy. Gilbert stood up his eyes wide and his hands shivered.

"Ludi!" He called.

The tall blond man stopped dead and looked to Gilbert with bright blue eyes. He said nothing for a moment then looked closer at Gil.

"You...." Ludwig said astonished.

Ludwig's head filled with remebrence. He could just see his mothers light blond hair shimmering in the firey light as she rocked in an old wooden chair with Ludwig strapped in her arms. He suddenly was taken back to a time when his mother would tell him stories of a mischievous and cocky boy who would recklessly reek havoc and make others very annoyed. She spoke of the boy having hair as white as the first snowfall but eyes like the blood that his father spilt. Ludwig didn't think this was the boy however. That boy was suppose to be long gone... Or so his mother had said.

"Y-you recognize me?!" Gilbert said running up to him.

"You.... Your the boy with the Snow White hair?..... What are you doing here?" Ludwig said scanning the slightly shorter man.

"I'm here to take you home!" Gilbert announced.

Ludwig's eyes widened further. "Home, where... Who are you?"

Gilbert was amazed. "You just said... You recognized me."

"Yes. But no... My mother told me stories of a boy with Snow White hair but that's....."

"That's me Ludi! Your mom is my mom! Ludi!" Gilbert hugged Ludwig but Ludwig only stared with a blank face.

"Ludi..." The young red head said tiredly.

Ludwig looked down at Feliciano and his head became more and more confused. Roma stood up and his face grew serious as if he understood.

"Antonio, take Lovino and Feliciano to bed. Matthew I will show you to your room." He said bluntly.

The mid height man with messy chocolate hair and tanned skin nodded and put a hand on each boys shoulder before leading them away. Matthew looked at Gilbert who seemed full of hope and he smiled at him waving softly as he followed the king. They all left the dining hall and it fell prey to the silence. Ludwig said nothing as his now claimed brother stood before him.

"How do you know I'm your brother. We look nothing alike." Ludwig stated.

"You look exactly like our old man, but with shorter hair... Roma and Roderick told me about you." Gilbert said still grinning wide.

"Roderick? As in the king of Austria?" Ludwig asked.

"How's mom?" Gilbert said ignoring Ludwig.

Ludwig looked to the side biting his lip. "She passed on."

Gilbert's eyes changed and he took a step back.

"Ludi... I'm sorry." He said.

"It wasn't your fault."

"I should have came to find you sooner...... But now that I have found you I'm gonna take you home! To be with our family!"

Ludwig looked away. "No brother." He said.

Gilbert's face became shadowed and he only stared in shock.

"Whereever you came from... I won't go back."

"I didn't come from just anywhere Ludi! I am the king of Prussia and you are my heir!" Gilbert announced.

"What? You're king Beilshmidt?" Ludwig said with wide eyes.

"Yes, I am. Why wouldn't you want to return to the palace? You'll be taken care of and spoiled as you should!"

Ludwig's eyes grew angry and Gilbert did not flinch but instead lifted his chin.

"My mother told me to live life the way I wanted but she also warned me to not find my father..... What is so bad about our father that I shouldn't return?" Ludwig asked.

"He was a poor king in the past. He cared only for the wide spread of our kingdom but when mother took you away he snapped. Now he mopes and quotes weird depressing poetry! I am king now and the kingdom hasn't been happier. So please..... " Gilbert's eyes softened. "Please come home."

Ludwig turned away from his brother and crossed his arms.

"I can't." He said.

With that he walked away leaving Gilbert alone, silent and heart broken.
