Chapter 5

After everyone had breakfast I showed each of them the photos I took. They all thought I was a weirdo for taking them, but they were cute so who really cares! Kayla and Jess had woken up earlier and texted me that they were fine and that their Hangovers weren’t too bad.

Kayla had choir and Jess had a dentist appointment. After Mariah, Wayne and Nathan left, Elise, Amanda, Jamie and I decided we would go to the beach and meet Kayla and Jess there. After a good day at the beach, everyone went and did their own things. I went home and socialized with my family and used all my stuff.

Almost my whole family had said the same thing “Casey, you must keep in contact with everyone who play a major role in your life they may start to find but…..” blah blah blah I know in my heart I will keep in contact with everyone. I got sick of hearing the same lecture it’s not like I will never see everyone again. Geez it’s only around about a 1 hour flight to visit each other, easily do-able!

I had decided I would gather all my items together and pack for my new life. It took me around a week to pack most of my stuff. I had left all the clothes I would need for the next 10 days in my wardrobe, I decided that I will pack them all the day before I leave. It was Christmas Eve; every year my family had a tradition where we would open each other’s gifts.

My younger brother Ben has been very upset that I was leaving but I promised I would call him as much as I can. I had gotten my brother 3 new Xbox games and I had bought him a new controller because he stuffs his up all the time. Whereas my older sister who is 17 hasn’t been around much she is pissed off I get to leave because she has apparently always wanted to live in Melbourne and be a Unit Model but I got the opportunity and not her.

My brother and sister put money together to get me a new guitar and guitar accessories like a strap and picks and a new case. I don’t know if I am good or not but I have been playing the guitar for years.

I bought my sister a new speaker for her car because my car is a lot better than hers. Hayley tends to get very jealous of me very easily. For my mum I bought her a new Pandora Bracelet full of charms one was the same one she got me for my birthday. She wanted the same one to symbolize our relationship.

For the rest of my family I bought them little things that were precious to them. Mum, Hayley and I watched the Christmas Carols like we do each year. When we woke up in the morning mum had bought me many charms for my Pandora so that it was completed. She also had gotten me shoes because mum knows I love boy’s types of shoes like Vans, Converse, and Osiris.

For Christmas this year I didn’t really want anything because I was leaving for Melbourne, I just wanted to spend time with my family but every single year mum tries to get us the best she can afford.

We aren’t the richest or poorest family but Hayley and I have a very good income which we secretly put money each week into mum’s bank accounts just so she doesn’t get any financial stress. After we had breakfast with my whole family, we were the typical Italian family always big meals and ALWAYS and I mean always had a lot of food left over.

We went to the beach for the rest of the day I don’t need a tan for Melbourne I am already naturally tanned but my mum wanted to go to the beach one last time before I leave. Mum and I would always walk along the beach and collect pretty shells together I guess it was just something we have done since I was little. 

I know what you’re thinking I am perfect right? Well no your wrong yes I am not the fattest and I have long hair and I am tanned and my family is perfect, but I worked for agers for my body I worked out every single day I did dance every day to keep fit. My hair was always short so I took very good care of my hair for a whole year for it to grow.

With my tan I was a very sporty child I was always out in the sun and because of that I got a natural tan. And my family is far from perfect Hayley and I always fight which causes stress on Mum and there’s also the fact that my mum is a single mother. Dad left us when he found out mum was pregnant with Ben even before that he was never home to take care of us.
