Chapter 19- Hospital

CASEYS POV

I woke up to numerous beeps and what sounded like a boy crying. I tried to open my eyes but the pain was unbearable I had to keep my eyes squeezed shut.

“Did she just move? I think she just moved!” The boy cried grabbing my hand.

“Casey Jade Mini. If you can hear us try and open your eyes” I man in a deep voice had said.

I tried to open my eyes as hard as I could but I couldn’t it was just too hard. I squeezed the boy’s hand trying to give them a signal I can hear them and am trying to open my eyes.

“DOCTOR SHE SQUEEZED MY HAND SHE SQUEEZED MY HAND” The boy was half yelling

“Alright Luke calm down. Casey can you squeeze my hand?” The doctor asked

Luke OMG ITS LUKE I NEED TO OPEN MY EYES!!! All I can think about was Luke and my family and my friends... I squeezed the doctor’s hand as hard as I can as I was trying to open my eyes.

“She squeezed my hand that is a sign that Casey is awake she just can’t open her eyes because of the pain she may try to talk soon. Just keep talking to her she can hear everything that is said. I will go tell her family the news.”

“Thank you for all your help doctor” Luke said crying. I missed Luke how long have I been in hospital for what do I do about work.

“Casey, I am soo sorry I didn’t mean to hurt you that night I was upset that you were about to break up with me and you most likely definitely will now. I love you with my whole heart and I can’t describe how sorry I am. What if I had killed you? I would never be able to forgive myself and I most likely won’t forgive myself now. I put you in a hospital you have been in hospital for 3 days I stuffed up your work and ooooooo” Luke said sobbing he couldn’t keep talking he balled his eyes out.

I opened my mouth to speak. My lips started to quiver as if I was crying “L …….L … uuu … kkk … e” I managed to get out of my mouth.

“Baby I am soo sorry” Luke cried.

I put my hand up to tell Luke to give me his hand. Luke entwined his hand in mine. I squeezed Luke’s hand trying to open my eyes. I let out all my pain onto Luke as I opened my eyes.

“Doctor!!!! Nurseee!!! Help!!!!” Luke yelled out to them in tears of joy.

The doctor ran in “Ahh good job Casey you opened your eyes. I am Dr Barsoni can you try to speak Casey?”

“L.. u.k.e I Lov Yo” I spat out trying to tell him I love him. Tears ran down my cheeks as Luke wiped them all away with his thumb.

“Mr Brooks I will be back in soon with Casey’s friends and family” Dr Barsoni stated.

“Casey your friends, Beau, Jai, Ben and I all got you a present. Elise told me how much you loved them and how you have wanted him since you were a kid. Elise is bringing him in when she has time to be alone with you and I” Luke said smiling “I am soo happy you are awake I am soo sorry I put you in here I have been crying the whole time you were in here I couldn’t bare loosing you… losing my girlfriend. So I stayed by your side every night and all day”

Tears rushed down my face. “Luke it was an a...ccident” I said as my words started to get clearer. “It wasn’t your fault and I am the one who is sorry. I was going to get rid of the love of my life all because of a stupid girl now I realised we are strong together and she has no chance of letting me think that again. Can we talk about this later? I really need a drink” I stated sitting up and kissing Luke’s cheek.

“I’ll go get you a drink. A vanilla coke yeah?” Luke asked.

“Yes please” I said my words were back to normal but I still had these stabbing pains in the back of my head.

“Ahh Casey, Luke had informed me that you can talk and I have told your mum and sister everything they are coming down to see you right now they should be here any second and they said they are bringing Ben, Elise, Amanda and Jamie and maybe the Brooks family will come as well. Is that too many people for you to handle?” Dr Barsoni asked

“No that’s fine it may help me take my mind of things” I replied smiling. “Thank you for everything its much appreciated”

“That’s okay you are handling this situation better than expected. Today is Wednesday and it is 3:00pm you may be out tonight if you keep this up. Oh and another thing the nurse had informed your work and you will start again next week if you are ready” Dr Barsoni said and turned around to walk off to other patients.

LUKE’S POV

I felt terrible I had placed my girlfriend into hospital because of my anger. I hated myself for laying my hands on her like that. I let jealousy get to me and I shouldn’t have I know it was just a dare and Casey loved me I guess the fact that she was considering dumping me because of Crystal didn’t help.

I walked back to Casey with a Vanilla coke in my hand. I couldn’t shake the feeling of guilt out of my head. When I reached Casey’s hospital room her family and the others were all outside in the waiting room. Elise ran up to me holding little Blizzard in her hands, Elise and I walked into the room together.

CASEY’S POV

Luke slowly walked into my room and handed me the vanilla coke. A few seconds later Elise walked in with a pure white Alaskan Malamute puppy in her hands. “Casey this is from all of us as a ‘thank fuck you are alive’ gift” Elise said cheering up the sad filled room. As Elise placed the puppy in my arms she mumbled “Blizzard go to your mummy”.

My eyes lit up “Blizzard… Is Blizzard for me??” I asked. “Yes Casey he is” Beau said walking into the room with my whole family and my friends and Jai and Gina. After everyone left the hospital Beau took the dog back to my place because we weren’t allowed to bring dogs into the hospital for hygiene reasons. Luke stayed behind and waited with me until the doctor will let me go home.

“Casey I am really sorry for everything that happened I feel like shit I have been crying for days I don’t want to lose you and I never ever ever wanted to hurt you and I failed and I’m just sooooooo sorry” Luke cried.

“Baby it’s okay it was an accident you didn’t mean it you need to stop feeling guilty it was half my fault anyway I know I shouldn’t have kissed Beau it was just a stupid dare and if you want when I go home we can discuss our relationship” I said trying to calm myself down.

Dr Barsoni walked back into the room “Ms Mini you will be able to leave the hospital tonight but you will need to be careful and gentle. Before we let you go we will need to run a few more tests to make sure your recovery will be a quick one. Let me just get the nurse in so she can run the tests”

The nurse soon left the room and said everything was fine I just needed to eat some food and have a drink so that I don’t faint from the tests and she also mentioned something about no sexual intercourse for a while I didn’t pay too much attention I mean I was in a lot of pain.
