Author's Note: Just a quickie! Seweryn's name is pronounce Seh-vryn. Does that make sense? Kinda does xD Just call him Sev.
"They'll be here tomorrow." Maya declared as she stepped into the main room. She walked up to her desk and slumped onto her chair. Her eyes were still watery and puffy from crying. Everyone else noticed this but didn't dare bring any topic about her eyes up. They knew what happened, they were aware that she contacted Seweryn and his crew. Just nobody was brave enough to talk about it.
Maya and Sew had been dating since the start of the zombie apocalypse. The two thought that as their chances of survival were critically low they could just confess all their deepest secrets. They both just blurted out their feelings to each other, which turned out in them loving each other. First, they acted really embarrassed around one another but soon Seweryn decided that the best solution to this was so simply ask Maya out, to which she agreed.
So, their relationship carried on, their love blooming like a flower. They became closer and grew more fond of each other than ever. The pair created unforgettable memories and spent as much time together as they could, in case anything separated them. Unfortunately, Maya and Sew had different friendship groups. He had his own gang, the group that nobody wanted to be with, whilst Maya kept loyal with her own old friends. She stayed with the other six of her friends, Jan, Nat, Holly, Suzzette, Eugenio and Nicole, for as long as she could remember. Friendship separated Maya and Sew apart. The boy and girl went completely different ways, both keeping loyal to their friends. As any other couple, they missed each other. For the first two weeks apart, they both fell into severe depression. Holly managed to get a signal from Sew and gave Maya a chance to talk to him every time there was any signal available. Calling each other didn't seem to cut it. The two were still a hundred miles apart. Tomorrow would be the moment they closed that big gap between them. Tomorrow they'd meet again, for the first time in five months, and they both were very eager for this.
Everyone else in the room could see that Maya had cried just a minute before. The wide, fake grin plastered on her face didn't do much as a disguise, it only made the situation worse. Maya had to hide her real feelings behind a forced smile, but it didn't do much.
Nat stood up from her desk and hurriedly started to walk over in the direction of her room. Awkward situations were not her thing. They made her feel bad and stressed out, this is why she left in a hurry. Nat hung her head down, not bothering to look up. She simply didn't want to catch anyone's eyes looking at her. There was no need for her to look in front of her anyway, she knew her way around very well. Nat got a big surprise when she bumped her head into something. Now filled with embarrassment, she dared to look up. It was even worse when she realised she didn't bump into something but into someone. Jan, to be precise. She glanced up and stepped back, awkwardly sliding to the side.
"Hello." Nat greeted the boy and quickly carried on walking towards her room.
"Goodbye." Jan called out after her, seeing that she was already speeding off down the corridor to her room.
The boy watched as Nat walked into her room. He looked away when she entered the room and closed the door behind her. Jan was currently stood in front of the entrance to the room corridor and raised his eyebrow over at Maya. Confused of what happened, Jan walked over to Alex.
"Hey," Jan whispered. He did not want Maya hearing this conversation. "Did Nat and Maya argue again?"
Alex shook his head and went back to working on his computer. Jan slowly nodded but was still confused as to what had happened.
"Maya." Nicole's voice cut through the silence. It echoed off the walls. Maya's head shot up from blankly staring into the computer screen to looking at Nicole with her sad, drained eyes.
"You should take a nap." Nicole suggested. For once in a while, she came up with an actually good idea.
It would be useful for both Maya and the others. She would be peacefully napping in her comfortable bed whilst the others could focus on the work instead of her. There was a lot of stuff to be done before Seweryn and his crew arrived. Maya could not help in the state that she was in. Besides, the others would not allow her to see all of the surprises they had in store for the couple.
Maya pulled herself up and shuffled down to her room. The idea of a nap seemed ideal to her at the moment. Her soft duvet and Seweryn were the only two things she had on her mind. Soon enough, Maya reached her room. She slowly opened the door and tiptoed up to her bed. The girl stood with her back to the bed, preparing a dramatic fall backwards. She perched up on her feet and leaned back. Her body was engulfed in the soft sheets. Maya immediately felt her mood change.
Maya crawled up her bed and got under the duvet, snuggling into the pillow. Nicole's advice was already working and she wasn't even sleeping yet. She found her eyes closing on their own. Her eyelids slowly slid shut and all she could see was darkness. All she could hear was rustling coming from Nat's room and the nearly unnoticeable hum of the ventilation. Maya already felt relaxed. Her mind went blank, making her forget all her problems and worries. She felt herself slowly drifting asleep, her mind spinning. Only now did she realise how tired she really was. The main cause of her tiredness was the stress. Maya and Seweryn would finally be reunited. Everyone knew and expected an emotional day tomorrow and they would all have to prepare themselves, mentally and physically. Mentally for all the emotion and physically for all the reunion hugs. Maya had to prepare herself more than the others, due to her sensitivity. The girl fell asleep with a wide grin on her face.
Immediately, she regretted listening to Nicole. The view in front of her was terrifying. She wanted to fall to her knees and cry. Her body felt weak and tears formed in her eyes. This was definitely a nightmare. A nightmare she dreaded since the start of the apocalypse.
