"I feel like someone is watching us." Holly shivered. The feeling was always present, but this time it was stronger than any other time she felt it. When she turned around to check if anything was there, she screamed in shock. Everyone stopped and turn to see what this was all about.

On the ground, covered by leaf and high grass, lay Aiden. He didn't look normal, though. Nicole quickly noticed he was beaten up and bleeding.

"Help." He called out. This immediately resulted in the Seven running towards him, jumping over holes and rocks in the ground. They reached Aiden in no time, because he was only around five meters away from the Seven. But as soon as Jan reached down to help him, the figure of Aiden turned into dust. Just straight from the shape of a human body, every single dust particle fell down onto the ground. It crushed some grass, and some was blown away by another random gust of wind.

"What?" Jan asked. Nobody responded, because they were wondering just the same thing as he was right now. Everybody was clueless.

"That was unexpected." Eugenio mumbled, standing back up. He previously knelt down to help Aiden, but now that there was no Aiden he saw no point in kneeling anymore.

"Is this a sign or something?" Maya asked, glancing around at everyone. A thought popped into everyone's head, apart from Maya's. Maybe this event was somehow linked to the leafs landing in an arrow formation, pointing towards Maya. Maybe, just maybe, there was a link to it. Even if there was, though, the Seven had no idea how it linked and couldn't come up with any idea.

"Possibly." Suzzette muttered, also standing back up.

"Well, we've still got a few hours of sunlight left. Do you think we could take on that forest?" Jan suddenly changed the topic, earning himself a lot of suspicion. He pointed to the forest, which could be seen on the horizon. The forest had tall trees, just like the one they've walked through, and wound for at least a good 15 miles. They couldn't go around it, because it would waste time, though they didn't know the depth of the forest either. If they went into the forest, they'd have to leave it before sunset, and they didn't know if they'd make it.

"We can try," Suzzette replied. "We need to get near the forest entrance first."

They followed the road they were going on since they left the town. It was meant to lead them right to their home town, which seemed easy enough for the Seven. Still, many questions were left unanswered and as they neared their destination they became even more eager to know the answers.

"Let's speed up." Maya took the lead once again. The Seven followed behind her, occasionally whispering to each other about the leaf arrow. Had it pointed out the Master, the helper, a clue, or was it simply another trick made by the Master themselves to throw the Seven off the track.

As Maya said, they all sped up, reaching the forest within an hour. Still, there was clearly some daylight hours left, so after taking a vote, with Nicole and Holly being outvoted by everyone else, the Seven took on the winding forest. The road inside of it wrapped around the strongest, oldest, most resistant trees that refused to be cut down by even the sharpest of saws. It felt like there was no end to the forest, the road just kept going. For a moment, the Seven thought they were lost. The feeling of being watched remained high, especially with all the mysterious sounds coming out from the forest. Holly ignored them all, blaming it on the nature, wind, and the wildlife.
