"I forgot to ask" Ch.23

"Heyyy" Austin says after I picked up my phone.

"Hey Austin whats up?"

"Wanna go for a drive with me?" He asks

"Sure where?"

"That my dear, is a secret"

"Umm...ok lets do it" I say laughing a little.

I walk next door and he's already in his car. I get in and he gives me a kiss on the cheek and we start on our little adventure. As we drive, quite music plays on the radio and the wind rushes through the car. It's mid April so it's warm outside, but not to warm. I close my eyes and breathe in the fresh cut grass smell. It makes me feel so at home. I notice as I'm lost in thought he reaches over and intertwined our fingers. It's not everyday you feel as good as this.

We have been driving for at least 5 hours and I guess after asking countless times where we were going, I fell asleep. It's about 7:30 when he wakes me up.

"Hannah, wake up. Where here" he says brushing the hair out of my face.

"I thought you said a drive not a road trip" I say stretching and smileing at him.

"We did go for a drive. A long drive" he says stepping out of the car and coming around to my side.

After closing my door for me, he grabs a bag out of his backseat and grabs my hand. We began to walk towards a wooded area and I'm still so curious as to where we are going. But I learned of the 5 hour trip that I will soon find out. As we walk I notice all the trees are in full bloom. There are flower bushes all over that have beautiful purple,pink,red and blue flowers everywhere. It's breathtakingly beautiful. As I look in front of us I see a opening in the trees.

"Almost there" he says looking down at me smileing.

We step out of the woods and there is a beautiful lake that lay in front of us. Water as far as the eye can see.

"Oh my god austin! It's beautiful" I say shocked.

"You always said your dream date was watching the sunset and stargazing. So that's what we are doing. But I made it a little better"

As I look out at the water he lays a blanket down in the grass behind me. He even puts pillows and some food down also. The sun was starting to set and I couldn't believe how pretty this was. As i was looking I hear a snap. I turn around to see that Austin had taken a picture.

"What are you doing?"

"Captureing the beauty" he says walking up to me showing me the picture. I was in the center but the main focus was on the sunset.

"Here give me the phone" he hands it to me and i tell him to come beside me and i put the phone out in front if us and I snap the picture. In that one we were smiling. Then the next one was him kissing my cheek and the next one i was kissing his. We took some silly ones after that and I was getting ready to put the phone away but he said he wanted to take one more. He grabs the phone from me and looks at me.

"Hey" I look at him and all of a sudden he kisses me. I hear the photo take and he pulls away.

"Perfect" he says smiling down at me. This kid is so cheesy some times I swear. I just smile at him and we sit down to watch the beautiful sunset

A few hours later we are sitting in the same spot looking up at the stars. No clouds in site.

"You know.." he begins. "I just realized something.

"Whats that?"

"I forgot to ask" he says nonchalantly.

"Ask what?" I say looking at him.

"I've never asked you to be my girlfriend. After everything we've been through, it just kinda slipped my mind."

"Is that you asking me or just making a statement?" I ask smiling at him.

"Both" he says

"well then yes, I will be your girlfriend austin"

All he could do was smile. He stands up and reaches for my hand. I grab it and he pulls me up alongside him. He puts a hand on my cheek and looks into my eyes.

"Well, I'm glad you said yes. Because I would be super pissed if I did all this for nothing" he says leaning in and kissing me. The kiss was soft but sweet and it assured me of the feelings we had for eachother. I pull away and decide that I wanted to mess with him a little.

"Actually you know what...I change my mind. My answer is no." I say backing away from him.

"What?" He asks looking a little shocked.

"You heard me punk" I say with a smile. Then he smiled at me, knowing I was messing with him.

"Oh really? Well I think your going to regret that option" he says walking towards me. I took off running away from him. But the thing is, he runs faster than me. He catches me and picks me up walking towards the water.

"AUSTIN DONT PLEASE! IM SORRY!! IM SORRY PLEASE LET ME DOWN!" I say wrapping my arms and legs around him.

"Oh so now your sorry huh?" He says laughing still standing waste deep in the water. May I remind you it's APRIL and it's only like 60 DEGREES OUTSIDE.

"Yes please don't drop me"

"Ok I won't drop YOU" he says falling into that water with both of us. I let go of him after we were in the water and swim to the top freezing my ass off.

"AUSTIN IM GOING TO KILL YOU!" I say running after him once he gets up. I finally catch up to him and I jump on his back. He fell and I fell on top of him. He looks up at me laughing and smiling.

"Now I got you" I whisper to him then planting a kiss on his lips. It's way past 11pm and I was getting tired.

"You ready to go home babe?" He whispers to me.

"Not really but I guess."

I get in the passenger seat and almost fall asleep on the way home. Austin turns the heat on and gives me his jacket because apparently "real men never get cold". Austin reaches over and puts his hand on my thigh and flashes me a smile. Gosh this boy has my heart.
