Chapter Two:
I sit on my bed, waiting for the doctor to push me into the surgery room. As I wait I think of all the possibilities of going to an actual house. The food for sure will taste A LOT better. Ever since my parents left I have this big grin swept across my face. No matter what, I can't not smile.
"Ok Kenzie it's time..." Doctor Ross says poking his head through the door.
"Alright." I say.
He comes in and pushes me to the room.
"Ok today we are doing another very simple surgery....and like always you will be on morphine and asleep so no pain felt until after." He explains.
I nod my head, once I had a surgery done while I was awake.....that was the worst one I've ever experienced.
"Maccy, we are injecting you with morphine now.." One of the nurses say.
"Now we are putting a drug to put you to sleep..." Another nurse says.
I close my eyes and wait to fall under a deep sleep. Then BAM! darkness.
*****third persons POV*****
As Mackenzie gets her surgery done, her parents are on their way back to the hospital to pick up their daughter.
"I still can't believe that she's coming home!" Her mom squeals.
"Now Sarah do not tell her about her newest present!! I want it to be a surprise!" Jared smiles.
They both look to the back seat to see the sleeping husky puppy in his carrier.
Suddenly a coyote bolts in front of the car and Jared swerves the car to not hit the innocent animal. But as he does he runs into a big oak tree! Sarah starts to scream then.....nothing! Everything falls silent!
*****kenzies POV*****
My groggy eyelids lift up revealing by baby blue eyes. I look around the room to see a nurse looking at me....oh no it's just Rose.
"Hey Rose!" I smile still hazy from being put down with the drug.
She just looks at me in sorrow.
"W-what's the matter?' I ask a bit more awake now.
"MacKenzie....I'm so sorry!" She says a tear slips down her cheek.
"What's going on?" I ask cautiously.
The only time Rose EVER used my full name is when something bad happened.
"It's your parents.....their car crashed into an oak tree." She says another tear slipping down her cheek.
I sit there in total and utter shock. Then my head wraps around on what she is saying. They didn't survive....
"NO!NO!NO! THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING! WHY SOES EVERYTHING BAD HAPPEN TO ME!! NOOOOO! HET ME OUT OF THIS DAMN BED!" I scream tugging at the IV in my arm.
That was the first time I've ever cussed in my life. I jump off the bed but end up on my butt. I quickly scramble off the floor and run through the doorway.
"Kenzie come back! You are not supposed to be out of bed!" I hear Rose yell down the hall.
I don't listen and keep running to the ICU where I know where they are keeping my parents.
I start to get light headed and I slow my pace. I reach to a casual walk and go Ito the front desk.
"Umm...what room are Jared and Sarah Bell in?" I ask out of breath.
