CHAPTER TWELVE : “Wrong Enemy”
[ALENA’S POV]
The mission in Mexico took longer than planned. Their target was good at hiding and his goons were a little harder to take care of, but after a month of chasing down the bastard they finally caught up with him. Lena was glad it was all over. She was no longer being hunted by assassins and she can now see Matthew again. She has talked to Louis and Samantha three days ago, and they told her that there were no longer any threats to Matt’s life. The guys who were after him gave up when Stanley Hicks was sent to jail and Matt was once again safe to live his life.
She can’t wait to see him again so she drove to Peak’s Hollow the moment she arrived from Mexico. She remembered how scared she was the night she first drove back to her hometown. Tonight she was also scared, but for a different reason. More than a month ago she was scared of facing Matt again, but right now she was anxious because she’s not with him.
When she boarded the plane hours ago she had this feeling that something bad was about to happen. The last time she had this kind of feeling she wasn’t wrong and she was scared that this bad vibes had something to do with Matt.

[MATT’S POV]
Matt was finishing up some work in his office late tonight when he was interrupted by Olivia Benson. It’s been a little more than a month since he broke up with her and he was surprised to see her in his office. He stood up to greet her and that’s when he noticed that she wasn’t alone. She had two men with her and they were both pointing a gun at him.
“What’s the meaning of this Olivia?” he asked, confused with what’s going on.
“Didn’t I tell you that you’d pay for what you did to me Matt?” Olivia sneered. “You shouldn’t have messed with me and my father. When you took Reed’s case, I convinced my father to be easy on you. I asked him not to harm you, but then you humiliated me.”
“You were behind Stanley Hicks’ gang?” he said incredulously.
“My father is. He’s been dealing with that gang for years. You see Hicks knew things about my father so he had to keep him out of prison. In exchange for protection from law, Hicks would not incriminate my father in any crime,” Olivia admitted.
“You and your father were behind those men who were after me that night weren’t you?” he said, finally putting things together.
“You are as intelligent as they say you are Matthew Masen. I really liked you, I was even thinking of marrying you, you know. But now all I’m interested in is making you suffer,” she said pointing a gun at his chest. “Don’t worry Matt. I won’t kill you right away. I have other plans for you before ending your life.”

[ALENA’S POV]
Matthew wasn’t home. Alena called Hawkins to ask him if he knew where Matt was.
“I don’t know where he is Lena. Did you check his office?” Hawkins said.
“I drove past the building and there were no lights in his office,” she answered, worried about Matt. “Something’s wrong Louis. I’ve had this nagging feeling all day and I think it has something to do with Matt.”
"I’m on my way there and I’ll bring Sam and Jake with me,” he said, his voice reassuring Lena a little. “Why don’t you contact his parents or his sister, ask them if he’s with them?”
“I’ll call them next. Be careful driving okay?”
After talking to Matt’s family and finding out he wasn’t with them, Lena went to back to her car to get her weapons. They missed something crucial and she had to be prepared for the worst.
She was replaying in her mind everything that has happened to her and Matt a month ago to try to figure out what they were missing when she remembered what she told Matt about Alpha. Alpha’s fee was too expensive and Hicks’ gang wouldn’t be able to afford him. She told Matt and Louis then that she thinks someone was behind those hits, someone who was rich enough to hire Alpha. She tried to remember what the Wrangler told her, but there wasn’t anything that the Wrangler could tell her about the person who hired them. All he said was they were hired to kidnap Matthew. She was hoping that that was what happened tonight. She was hoping that Matt was only kidnapped and that he was still alive somewhere.
She had about two hours to kill before her back-up got here so she decided to do some investigating in Matt’s building.
The guard on duty didn’t allow her to get inside the offices because she didn’t have an I.D., but was happy to answer her questions about Matt.
“Do you know if Mr. Matthew Masen went in this morning?” she started with her questions, praying that she would find out something that can lead her to where Matt is.
“Yeah, his secretary talked to me before she went home and told me Mr. Masen was still in his office working late,” the guard answered.
“Do you know what time he went home?” she asked again.
“I’m not sure if he went straight home, but he was with some people when he left an hour ago. He must still be out in a meeting miss.”
“Can you describe who he was with?” she asked, knowing that whoever was with Matt when he left was the one who was behind his attempted kidnapping a month ago.
“He was with a woman and two other guys. I think the guys were her bodyguards.”
“A woman? What does she look like?”
“She was wearing a scarf covering her head, but she sure was pretty.”
Lena needed more details on what the woman looked like, but the guard couldn’t tell her anymore information. She called Hawkins and told him what she found out. She then called Damon to ask for help.
“Can you help me find out the number or address of Matt’s secretary?” she asked Damon after telling him what was going on.
“Sure. I’ll send you whatever I can get from her in a minute,” Damon answered.
Lena went back to the car to use the hi-tech computer that was part of her car’s feature to access her email. When she got the number she needed, she dialled it and explained the situation to Matt’s secretary, Ana.
“I think he’s in real trouble and I really need your help,” she begged her.
“What can I do for you Ms. Harris?” Ana answered her.
“Can you meet me here in Matt’s building? I need access to the security videos.”
“I’ll be there in three minutes.”
After watching the video, Lena and Ana immediately recognized the woman who left with Matthew. She also recognized that Olivia Benson was with Alpha. She asked Ana about Olivia’s background and found out that Olivia’s father was a very influential and rich business man. After telling her all that she knows, Lena drove Ana home and went back to Matt’s house.
Lena figured that the Bensons were the ones who hired for goons to abduct Matt. She called Damon again to tell him what she found out and to ask him to find out more about the successful Mr. Benson. She needed to know the location of all the properties he owned and the most likely place where Mr. Benson could’ve taken Matt.
Hawkins, Sam and Jake arrived an hour later and they all waited for the information she asked from Damon. He called a while later and told them that the Bensons owned a warehouse near their mansion a little out of Peak’s Hollow. He said that it was the most likely place where they might stow Matt. Damon also sent them via email a blueprint of the warehouse and some pictures of its surroundings.
“So how are we going to save Matt?” Lena asked Hawkins, Sam and Jake.
