Not what I expected

Chapter 23

"Dr Hardy?" A woman shouted
"Yes that's me" I said walking towards her
"Good morning, lie on the bed please Dr Hardy" she said "so I hear you think you're pregnant?"
"Yes I took 2 tests this morning. I'm 2 weeks late but my periods have been a bit awkward for the past several months"
"Right okay, pull your top up please. This may be cold" she said

She then began using the ultrasound machine...

I then heard a heart beat...

"Dr Hardy...you're pregnant...." She said
"Oh my" I replied "how far gone"
"Well, by this I'm guessing about 6 or 7 months..."
"What!" I shouted "But, I still had periods and I don't have a bump!"
"Calm down Dr hardy, it'll all be okay. Sometimes strange things happen, I'll book you in an appointment for tomorrow and we'll sort everything out then. Although, your baby girl does look extremely healthily"
"Baby girl?" I asked
"Oh yes sorry!" She replied

I then got dressed and headed back down to Connie...

She was still in her office

"Connie?"
"Yes?" She said "oh how did it go?"
"I'm pregnant!"
"Oh my goodness! Does anyone know?"
"No but im going to go tell everyone now because the baby is coming in 3 months..."
"You're 6 months! You aren't showing at all!"
"I know, I didn't suspect a thing! Can you call a meeting for all the nurses and other staff except doctors. I'll tell them first before I tell Cal and Ethan...and the other doctors after"
"Oh sure! Follow me!"

We walked into the ED...

"Can all ED staff excluding doctors come to the desk please?" She said over the speaker

They all gathered quite quickly...

"Okay everyone, one of our doctors will be leaving us for a bit quite soon..." said Connie
"Who?" Said Robyn
"Me" I said, "I'm pregnant..."
"Really!" Shouted max running up to me! "I knew you were!"
"Omg Amelia! How far?" Asked Robyn
"Well...I'm..."
"Spit it out! You can't be that far you've got no bump!" Said Robyn
"I'm 6 months" I said
"Oh my god! How? But? In going to be an Auntie!" said Robyn.

"Please don't tell Caleb or Ethan, I am going to find them now to tell them myself" I said, "they're both on their breaks aren't they?"

"Yeah, they're in the break room"
