Hermione's pov.
The whole potions class was interesting as usual.I took down notes.The only awkward thing was that he was giving me his classic stare every few minutes.Half way through the period,he stared at me for quite long enough to find out that something was wrong.

He announced in the class."This whole year,it is going to be practicals.So i will assign partners to all of you and this will be your pairing till the end of this year."he said.

"Parkinson and Wealsy,Lavendet and Zabini,Potter and Millicent....."he continued.I could only smile at the wierd pairings.The last pair made me almost fall off my chair."...Granger and Malfoy."he completed.I was shocked.All the pairings till now were Slytherin and Gryffindor.

We were the only pair to be slytherins.I was stuck with this bouncing ferret for a whole year."Turn to page 56.Start the making of the potion"he said.

Before we could start working,a.voice interrupted."Excuse me professor!!"a very sweet voice.We turned to see a lady,fat fair,curly brown hair,pink chain,pink attire and pink shoes with a parchment and a quill.

Dolores Jane Umbridge.The current monster of Hogwarts.

Snape was aghast as he went out of the class to talk with her.We started with the potion.As usual,Malfoy was of no help.He was simply playing with the pages of the book."I started doing it on my own.

Add 10 drops of dragon blood with 21 pieces of hippogriff's skin. The book said."Let me help you"Malfoy said and started popping in the pieces while i added the blood.Aftet that,as i was busy reading,i forgot to see what that ferret was doing.When i saw,i was annoyed.He was adding another few drops of Dragon's blood and was stirring it clockwise when the book said Three times anti clockwise.

"Before i could say anything,the liquid in the cauldron turned red and was boiling and was about to splatter out."Protecto!!"i yelled just in time.The liquid burst out and splattered on Malfoy but not me.He mutterd a spell and cleaned himself.

The floor was fully plastered with a thick red liquid.

"It was your fault,Malfoy.Who asked you to add extra blood ?".

"You never let me read the instructions.You wanted to do it yourself,Granger!!"

"You were not intrested.You stirred it according to you will"

"You are a know it all!!Why didn't you..."

"Stop it both of you!!"Snape shouted."Who did this?"he asked.I pointed at Malfoy at the same moment he pointed at me.

"You!!"
"No.You!!"
"No.It was.."

"The class is over,All of you will write a foot long essay about the uses of the potion you tried to make today."he said.The class groaned.As i colle ted my books,"All will leave except these two responsible prefect."Snape pointed at us.

"You both will clean this,without magic.As a punishment,you will serve detension for a week in my office."he said and left.I conjured a scrubber and started scrubbing.Malfoy just stood,watching me.

"What the hell do you think you are doing?"i asked."I will never do such a work.Snape will forgive me."he sneered.I was pissed off."Of course not Malfoy.You will do this.If you don't you will come and clean the hippogriffs stable."came a voice.Snape.
