Finding a Date?!

Hermione went inside her room and closed the door.As usual Draco was sitting beside the window.

She went up to him and gave him his wand"Thanks"she smiled.

"Don't mention"he took it from her.She sat opposite to him and looked outside the window at the black lake.

"Nice show during dinner"Hermione said breaking the awkward silence.Draco chuckled"I know..I'm good in everything"he said proudly.

Hermione rolled her eyes."You should have seen Pansy's face.."She said smirking.Draco nodded"Though the part where I kissed her was aweful"he winced which made Hermione giggle.

They both soon talked about all classes and made sure to change the topic when it came to what happened in the afternoon or the announcement during dinner.

"I'm going to bed Draco"she said yawning."Whose bed?"he asked that caught her off guard.She tried to hide her blush.

"Don't imagine it's yours Malfoy"she sneered and went to her bed after changing to her night clothes."I dont want you all over me in the morning Granger"he grinned as he went to bed shirtless.She stuck her tongue out and went to bed blushing and soon slept.

Next day morning as they both headed to the great hall the whole place was buzzing with the news of the ball.Every one was excited and were talking about who would ask whom.Hermione chuckled and sat next to Draco looking around"Every body is happy and bubbling with energy"she commented looking at him."Well i think this is shit..like what will dateless people do?"he asked looking at her.Hermione was confused.Who wouldnt want to go with Draco Malfoy?

Looking at his grin she realised he was talking about her and rolled her eyes"Who wouldnt want to go with me Malfoy?"she smirked and looked at the ravenclaw guy looking at her and smiling goofily blushing."Cute isnt he?"she asked to Draco's shock"Him?You are going with that bonkerhead?"he asked raising his voice as a few pwople turned to look at him.

"Malfoy!Reduce your volume!"she said shushing him."Still..dont tell me you are going with him"he said in a low voice.She smirked"Im not..anyway..why are you too bothered about whom i go with?"she asked smirking.He leaned on the wall"uh..nothing"he said.She got up as it was time for class.Draco got up with her and walked away leaving her behind,"Ferret"she mumbled under her breath as Alice and Harry caught up with her.

"Did he ask you??"Alice asked her curls bouncing.Harry smiled glancing at Ginny time to time.Hermione smirked at Harry before looking at Alice"He is arrogant and too proud to ask me"she sighed."Then you ask him!"Harry pointed to which Alice nodded.Hermione gave a laugh"Me?Asking the Ferret?Nope.Let him ask"she grinned and walked away leaving her friends sighing.

Alice thought for a few moments and grinned.Harry saw her and smiled"I know you have got an idea..spill it"

The whole day Alice and Harry kept a watch on Hermione and Draco.Both didnt seem like asking the other one to the ball.The last class was Potions with the gryffindors.Professor Snape had given them a potion to make and had left.The whole class started doing the potion in pairs,Hermione with Draco.Draco was adding the materials while Hermione was telling him what to do.In between their usual fight on the no.of drops of dragon blood to be added,Harry snuck up under the table and added a few drops of a random potion he found and came back winking at Alice"I hope your idea works Al"

"Trust me"she grinned.

Soon the potion turned a deep shade of purple and it boiled furiously and spilt all over the floor.Draco and Hermione where shocked and looked at eachother and glared."See Malfoy?Thats why i told it was 10 drops"she said madly.Draco gritted his teeth"But Granger i didnt even add the dragon blood!"he said.Hermione looked for a second at him."So thats why it happened!You cant even follow my instructions!"

Draco banged the table and stood up"It was your fault!You were fighting like an old bar hag!"

Hermione stood up too clenching her fists"Oh me?Who was shouting like a blind baboon not looking into the book?!"

Draco leaned closer"You are blind,deaf and a fighter cock"

Hermione raised her voice"You are an idiotic bouncing ferret!"

the whole class was watching both of them awed.

"You are a coward Granger!"

"Oh yes?Who was afraid to ask a girl out for a date?You or me?"

There was a minute's silence.

"Will you go to the dance with me Granger?"

"Fine Malfoy"

And both bent down to clean the mess as though they hadnt casually just asked one another for the dance and the other agreed.

The whole class gave an all knowing smile while Alice and Harry showed eachother a thumbs up.
