Chapter 16 - Why?

Errors possibly ahead

"So what were you going to tell me?" Jesy said

Jake stayed quiet for a few seconds thinking how to tell Jesy.

Jesy just sat cross legged on the bed looking at Jake showing full attention even though she wanted to sleep.

"Promise you will remain calm after I tell you" Jake said with a serious face making Jesy give a confused look but nodded a yes.

"Your mom isn't your real mom" Jake said getting straight to the point.

Jesy showed no change in her facial expression, all she did what blink.

"What?" Jesy said.

"Your mom isn't your real mom" Jake repeated.

"I heard you, but why come up with a story like that" Jesy said raising her voice. "I have lived with my mom all my live, so of course shes my mom".

"Jesy. I have prove. Just please believe me. Im trying to help you" Jake said with a begging expression.

Jake pulled out the missing poster and turned it to Jesy's direction.

Jesy scanned the poster and took it out of Jake's hand examining it closer.

The atmosphere between Jesy and Jake was quiet for a few minutes until Jesy spoke.

"Why?" Jesy plainly said.

"Why what?" Jake said.

"Why wouldn't I remember any of this?" Jesy's voice crack wanting to cry but held it in.

"Jesy, it happened like 6 years ago. You were only little, of course you wouldn't remember" Jake said trying to re ashore Jesy.

"Why hasn't she (Jesy's real mom) never came to look for me? Doesn't she care?" Jesy said with tears threatening to fall.

"She does Jesy! I spoke to her earlier today and from what she said she seemed to miss you so much. She even cried for you because she has been searching for you in the time you have been missing" Jake said holding Jesy's shoulders looking straight into her eyes.

Jesy looked down and twiddled her fingers.

"I just don't know what to do anymore Jake" Jesy said resting her head on Jake's chest letting out her sobs shes been holding in.

Jake wrapped his arms around Jesy and rubbed her back calming her down.

"Were going to look for your real mom" Jake whispered into Jesy's ear.

Jesy looked up to Jake "But what about my mom? She will know im gone and hurt me again" Jesy said with worry in her voice.

"Don't worry about that. We won't be coming back here ever again. "Pack your stuff including your passport" Jake said.

Jesy had packed every thing she wanted into a rucksack and all she needed was her passport. She knew her passport was in the safe and the code but the only problem was it was in her moms room.

She slowly opened her bedroom door and crept down the hallway. Reaching her moms bedroom door she carefully opened the door and sneaked in over to her wardrobe where the safe was. 

She opened the wardrobe  which creaked a little. She quickly turned around to see if her mom wasn't waking up, but all she did was turn over.

Jesy saw the locker and typed in the pin *******.

Then safe opened revealing valuables.

Jesy grabbed her passport and some cash she saw in the safe closed it up and quietly made her way back to her room.

She walked into her room to see Jake sat waiting. She showed him the passport and Jake put his thumbs up.

"You ready?" Jake said walking up to Jesy.

"Ready than ill ever be" Jesy said smirking.

The two of them went out the window and made it to the floor without falling or getting hurt.
