"Well hello Marco..." The figure boom above me, and I stand up, wide eying the figure. He floated on air, although he did not look like the same breed of wind elements as my mother. She had red hair and piercing green eyes, but this man has midnight black hair and stormy grey eyes. It smelled like a dump, and sewage water swirled around my boots.

"Who are you! Where am I! Tell me, or I'll have you blased!" I bluff, and the figure still hovers above me, laughing like a villain in a movie.

"Well, well, well. The hero sure knows how to bluff, doesn't he," Darn. He called it almost instantly. I should pay attention to more of Emma's mind tricks. "Well welcome Marco. Make yourself feel right at home." I stagger backwards when he shoots some element in my direction. Examining the remains on the ground, I notice that it's a new kind of element I haven't seen before-shadows.

"Shadow element, huh?" I inquire, the man even still sitting in the air, as if he were in a chair.

"I see the hero is intelligent also. You've figured out my magic type so easily." He acknowledges, and I dodge another blow of shadows.

"Where am I!? Why am I here!?" I yell, and he just chuckles.

"Oh... you don't know do you? Well I'll tell you. You Mr. Held, just received your powers...," I give him a really? And he nods. "By standing up for that idiotic traitor, Assane, you unleashed your powers... lighting nonetheless." I stand there surprised that all It took was someone about to die... for me to get what all what these years I've been waiting for. The man then continues, "I brought you here to kill you on the spot." I back up a few steps, and he shoots another shadow beam at me, it hitting my leg, making it sting like nothing else.

"You're.... you're Ray..." I mutter, and I can feel toll already swarming my body. Ray is the leader of the evil elementals, and the most ruthless of all of them. His torn robe followed the wind and he sat on his shadows.

"In the flesh," He laughed, and I felt the toll swarm down my arms. "I see you've got some toll there..." he laughed even more. Me being devoured was a thousand times better than him trying to get me in his mind.

"I'm not afraid of you." I groan.

"Well your toll says differently. Seems as if you're not much afraid of me, but you're afraid of the toll." I pull off my jacket, and it's spreading anywhere and everywhere it can get. I need to stop. I tell myself. If I don't stop I truly will die. Taking control of my body, the toll stops spreading, and I carefully stand up.

"Bring me back!" I demand to Ray, but all he does is still laugh.

"The only way you can go back is if you're going back as a corpse." He deviously says, but I stay strong, and the toll keeps its distance. It pains, not as much as getting rid of the toll, but the toll itself burns in a way. Almost like a heart attack going through your chest.

"Let me go "Or I'm going o have to kill you. It's kill or be killed."

"Ha! Well let I me tell you," he shoots another shadow ball in my direction. "There is no kill." We fight for a while, me hopelessly trying to throw rocks at Ray, only to see him easily dodge everything.

"Little hero stuck?" Ray taunts, lugging yet another shadow energy ball in my way. I then see what I have to do. I have to use my newfound powers, and break him down. Lightning he said.... Right? Sadly, of course, the elements never taught me how to use powers, or even how their powers work. Holding out my hand, and focusing as hard as I can, I hear a long groan.

"Agh! What the heck did you do!?" I open my eyes and see Ray on ground, holding his leg, it burnt from whatever I just did.

"Ha! It actually worked!" I exclaim, surprised I'm not dead. Before I know it, another bright flash appears before my eyes, and I'm back in Regbow city. Putting my hands out, I fall hard onto the building, groaning.

"Oh my gosh..." Emma said, wide-eying me.

"I know." I rudely comment!" I yell, but he shoots another ball of shadow energy in my direction. I'm never going to survive if I don't do it. I tell myself. You have to use your powers. Holding my hands out, I focus very hard. Sadly, the elements never told me how their powers even work. I close my eyes, and focus all my energy above me at Ray. I then hear a long groan.

"Agh! What did you do!?!?" he screams, holding his leg. I see him holding his leg, because I burnt his whole calf. Soon enough, another flash comes before my eyes, and I'm brought back to Regbow city. I fall from the impact, and open my eyes to see the elementals surrounding me.

"Oh my gosh..." Emma says, astonished by what she witnessed.

"I know."

"Marco," Blake interjects, seeming a bit concerned. "You... you are the hero." Everyone wide-eyes me.

"I-I uh... how?" I stutter, being alienated from everyone else. they all stare at me.

"because... You are the hero because ... You interfered a blasing session. Not a single soul can do that." Finn said, speaking with weariness.

"How could I do that! Shouldn't Assane be dead?" I explained, searching for her body. I saw her laying on the ground still covered in toll. She shivered in the cold, and she looked like a puppy without a family.

"Assane!" I shouted, skidding towards her. "Blake quick! Get rid of her toll before he gets devoured!" Blake stood there for a little while and didn't respond. But soon, he noticed what I was saying and what I meant, and how I really believed that she should have a second chance. She had to have grown up in a horrible environment. Raised by villains or something. Blake ran over to her and heated up his hands as soon as possible. Finn just kept grinning because I finally got my powers. He sure is the best guy ever, I will probably always act young. Blake placed his hands on Assane's skin. He started burning the toll off, and she screams. Watching her wiggle around, it's kind of weird to watch someone else get toll removed. This must of been how I kind of looked when I was little, getting my toll remove so weirdly. I was so young then. It's hard to think that it was only three years ago when I met the elements. And now I'm fighting off bad guys and everyone sees me as a hero all of a sudden.

"There." Blake finishes, cooling his hands in the snow on the ground. Everyone then looks back at me.

"What!?" I say, giving glares at everyone. With them all staring at me feels so uncomfortable.

"guys, I think we should keep the girl. The kid has never been so certain on something before." Finn explains.

"Okay, we can keep her. But only under one condition," Blake states, and I feel a chill go down my spine.

"She must stay with Marco at all times. And has to train to become an elemental by Marco's side." when he says this, I somewhat feel relieved. I believe in her, and I think she should have a chance to be redeemed as a better person than she used to be. After all, she didn't give away our location to the evil elementals; and that meant everything to me. If she truly can change, then she should have a chance to be an elemental just as I do.

"Thank you so much," Assane thanks, me helping her off the ground. "Nobody has ever shown that much mercy towards me." Her beautiful blue hair look like silk, the cleanest thing on her.

"how did you even get caught up in this big mess anyways?" Emma questions, holding her shoulders.

"Oh, I never really thought of that. Let's just say that... The captain of the evil elementals, Vick, he's my brother. The picture addition in my family is being the long line of captains for the evil elementals. Kind of hard to explain in a way, when you just want to be good, but everyone in your family is evil and hates you for it. They made me their spy, there little puppet, their slave to toss around like a rag doll."

"Wow. That's hard to live with" I say, and pat her back. We then walk back to our temple, telling Assane all about us, and everything she needs to learn to truly be one of us.
