Life seemed to return to normal once we got back to school. Few people had heard the news about how Rosalena Mechant's father was an alcoholic, but I knew the people who mattered wouldn't care, and they didn't. They treated me as the always did, simply as one of their friends. Donavan and I told them everything that had happened that night, excluding the strange talk James gave us.

"So you're living together now?" Serena asked excitedly. My face went hot, and Donavan grinned.

"Indeed we are." He answered.

"Do you sleep in the same room?" Kyle asked and I hit him.

"Why would you even ask that?" I asked, my face burning. He shrugged.

"I'm just curious." He said, grinning at me.

"Why? Did something happen?" He said, leering at me. I shook my head.

"Absolutely nothing happened!" I said, leaning away from him. He sighed and left my personal bubble.

"So, Donavan, did anything happen?" He said, leaning across the table to talk to him. Donavan gave Kyle a mischievous grin.

"Yeah, I'll tell you." He said, motioning for Kyle to go to over to him. Kyle grinned and got up, moving around me to lean down next to Donavan. Donavan stretched his neck up and whispered something into his ear. Immediately Kyle's face went blank.

"Wait, that's it?" He asked incredulously. Donavan nodded and Kyle sighed, going back to his seat. He opened his mouth when the bell rang and we all rose from the table. The doors opened and we all thanked the person holding the door. I waved to the others as I jogged to my locker. Twisting the knob left, right, left, then yanking down, I hummed Count on Me, bobbing my head to the beat. I smiled and opened my locker, grabbing textbooks and two small binders. I snatched my pencil case from the top shelf and closed the door, pushing the lock back onto it. I walked to my next class, thinking of Bruno Mars and Donavan.
