*Aaliyah's pov* 

"Are you ready?" My mom asked me as I walked downstairs with the last little bit of stuff from my room.

"Yea, this is it", I replied.

"Alright, go put your stuff in the car, i'll be out there in a minute." She said handing me her keys.

I walked outside to the car. In case youre wondering, its a pearly white Escalade with chrome exterior and leather interior. I put my bags in the back and got in the passenger seat. I hooked my phone up to the radio and let my music shuffle. Body Party by Ciara came on and my mom loves this song so I let it play and put it on replay in case she missed it. Right when I layed my head on the window, I got a text. I unlocked my phone and it was from my bff, Alexis. We've been best friends since Kindergarten and we've always had each others' backs. Thats the main reason i didnt wanna leave.  

bff <3 : you rdy to go?

me: I dont want to :( 

bff <3 : Ik. I don't want you to either!! :(

me: ik !! We still gone chill tho. Def on the wknd. 

bff <3 : okaii I gotta go to class tho, I luh yuuhhhhhhh

me: i luhhhhh yuuuuhhhh too girl ! 

bff <3 :okaii. Be safe baby!!

me: aight. ima hyu when we get there ! 

bff <3 : okaii! you better!

me: mos def ! 

Just as I was hitting send on my last message, my mom came to the car.

"You good baby?" She asked with red eyes.

My heart broke. I could see the pain in her face and she was trying her hardest to hide it. I wasnt sure whether I should ask her about it or not. Maybe she just wanted to roll in silence.

"You okay ma?" I asked after we pulled off.

"Yea baby, im fine." She smiled.

We were moving into our new house and I start school the day after tomorrow. Odd to start school on a Wednesday but she wanted to give me some time to get settled in. 

I slowly fell asleep only to be waken up an hour later by my mom singing to the song that was on.

"Bitch you BROKE, shutup! Dont talk to me, get yo bread up!" She screamed.

I just died laughing. My mom is so crazy. We turned onto a nice, peaceful looking block. There were kids outside playing. We pulled up to a pale yellow house. It was gorgeous. It was a 2 story house with a big front porch and very green grass in the front yard.

I got out, grabbed my stuff and followed my mom into the house. The living room was painted beige and had brown furniture. There was a huge flat screen tv and speakers hooked up. It was really nice.

The kitchen was painted red with black and red appliances. There was an island in the middle too, it was so bomb! The guest bedroom and downstairs bathroom were both decorated very nicely.

The guest bedroom was painted pale green with green all around the room! It had a flat screen in there too. The bathroom was painted the same color green. There were spiral stairs.

 I went up and saw MY room. It was purple everywhere! There was a flat screen and these cute purple chairs all around it. Connected to the tv were a xbox and ps3 with new games on the shelves. There was a huge walk-in closet and it was fully stocked! Omg!! Then, up 2 small stairs was my bed area. My bed was big and there was a cute little nightstand next to it. Then, there was my bathroom. It was beautiful!! It was painted lavender and everything else was a pearl white. I walked out to look for my mom and didnt see her. I walked back in my room and sat down.
