A week after being in the hospital, I got to leave and return to the battlefield. I was put under Gideon's commands and he had rookies that were really nice but were really stupid. They didn't even know how to use the boost jump and other exo movements. I was really glad to return to the battlefield. I was getting so lonely in the hospital room but when Gideon wasn't on missions, he was with me.

I then woke up from my usual nightmare, the day of when Will died in Seoul. I hopped in the shower and got ready for the day. I then went to therapy for the torturing that I got when I was captured. Then I went downstairs to get some breakfest. We had a meeting today about how to take down Atlas and I was ready to kick all of their asses.

"Ok, Knox do we have all the explosives?" Gideon asked.

"Yes, they are ready when we need them." he said.

"Alright, we are gonna drive to Baghdad and plant the explosives. I want Dex sniping behind us. The rest of you are gonna help plant explosives around their base. Everyone got that?"

We drove out to Baghdad and set up Dex and some of the other snipers.

"Ok, Mitchell and I will go in through the East and Ilona and Knox will go in through the West. Matt and Chris will go in through the front and Joker and Vanessa will go in through the back. We will meet up in middle and will set charges. Let's go!" Gideon said.

We started running towards some old guard towers and took out the enemies inside.

"You stay here and I'm going to go into that tower," Gideon pointed to the building next to us, "If anyone comes out, you put a bullet between their eyes, just don't out one between mine."

"But what if you need help?" I cried.

"I won't. Now stay here!"

I watched as he busted through the door to the tower and fired his gun. He then started bursting it and I could here screaming coming from inside the tower but it wasn't Gideon. I started to get worried because I didn't hear anymore gunshots. I ran over to the building and went in with my gun raised. All I saw were dead bodies. I then headed upstairs and the enemy immediately started firing their weapon. I saw Gideon fighting a soldier with a knife. Gideon broke the man's neck and fired his grabbed his sidearm. I started taking out the remaining enemies and I looked around but didn't see Gideon anywhere. I want downstairs and didn't see Gideon. I then turned to walk out the door until I heard something.

"Jack..." Gideon whimpered.

I turned around and noticed Gideon was on the ground. I ran over to him and saw that he was bleeding profusely from the stomach. He also had a couple bullet wounds in his shoulder. I started tearing up at the sight of it. I took my t-shirt off and tried to wrap it around the gash in his stomach. He flinched and whined.

"I'm sorry..." I said as a tear rolled down my cheek.

"Try and radio Dex..." he said.

"Dex?" I said into the com.

"Mitchell? What's the matter?"

"We have a serious problem. Gideon and I are down in the tower to the East."

"I got eyes on the tower. You inside?"

"Yeah, first floor. Call in medivac and hurry or Gideon's gonna bleed out!"

"Yes sir!"

I turned off the com and looked over at Gideon. His eyes were closed and his breathing was heavy and shaky. I sat down next to him and propped his head on my lap and took his beanie off. I started praying to god that he would make it through this. When I was finished praying I looked down and he started coughing really bad. I tried to sit him up but that made it worse. His cough was croupy and he stopped for a couple seconds but then started again. This time he started coughing up blood and I got light headed because I thought he was going to die in my arms. I sat him up and he stopped.

"Mitchell..."

"Yes?"

"You need to leave..."
