"Finally, we're here, it took forever." I trudge through the small gates of the Hachō village noting my surroundings as we walk. "So where do we go now?" I ask Hayate sensei. He seems to realise that I just said something to him and replies
"We should go to the clients house, I have it written down somewhere..."he starts poking around in his pockets for something and then finally pulls out a small piece of paper from his back pocket. "Here we go, it's this way." He turns left down a small alleyway with me trailing behind him. "So do you know him?" Hayate glances down at me.
"Who, the client, never heard of him. But I hear he's rich so be polite, not how you usually act around me." I stare angrily at him. "What are you talking about? I act so polite around you, you should see me when I'm around my sis-" suddenly my voice catches. "Let's get to the client." I mutter. We walk in silence again with me trailing a few metres behind Hayate sensei. "That what I like best about you." I hear a small mutter in front of me. Suddenly I run beside Hayate sensei. "Ahhhhh, you, I swear if I could I would kill you right now." I scream in his ear.
"We're here."
I take a glance up at the huge house in front of me. "Wha, how can he own a house this big. I thought our clan owned the biggest amount of land in the five great ninja lands, not this guy." I scream angrily at the house.
"That's what I meant, be polite." He walks up to the house leaving me staring at it in shock. "Come on, aren't you tired." I suddenly jump out of my daze. "Yeah of course I am, come on hurry up." I say as I sprint up to the house, leaving Hayate sensei rather shocked at my change of mood. I soon enter the large gates and run up the gravel path to the front door. "Wait up, we can't just run in there." A panting Hayate runs up beside me and reaches out to knock on the door.
"Ok fine, whatever, just knock on the door already." I exclaim in annoyance.
As if they were awaiting our arrival the door opens to a elderly old man, presumably a door servant. "Hello, please come in. I assume you are the ninjas that my master ordered, he will be happy." As he says the last sentence his eyes travel to me and looks at me in disbelief with my markings on my face, almost as if he doesn't approve of me. We enter the building and are taken through many corridors with beautiful ornaments lining them. "This guy must be rich" I mutter under my breath
"Yes, he is the richest business man in the land of fire. He has great power and is often targeted for his bounty of 185000000 yen." Hayate sensei says gravely "Be on alert at all times, many assassins will take advantage of how little protection he has so don't expect this mission to be walk in the park." Soon we enter a large room with a small chubby man sitting on a throne like chair. His greasy dark brown hair shines in the sunlight and his brown slits of eyes examine me and Hayate sensei. He speaks in a very nasally voice. "My name is Eito Hamasaki, you will protect me with your life, leaf ninjas. What are you? I thought I ordered two experienced ninjas but all I got is a snot nosed brat and a mere Chunin." Suddenly I get angry
"Who are you calling a snot nosed brat? You should lo-" suddenly I feel a firm hand clamp my mouth.
"I am terribly sorry about my student but I am a tokubetsu Jonin of the village hidden in the leaves and this girl is the last of the infamous Raito clan. She will, however, get a telling off for her actions against you so I beg of you to forgive her." The man sighs and crosses his arms across his chest.
"Fine, but I would recommend giving her a few beatings to really show her how to behave." I struggle against Hayates firm grip as I get angrier and angrier. "Certainly, I will take your words of advice into consideration. If you would excuse me, I am going to have to have a few words with her to get her to calm down."
"Of course, you." He points to the door man. "Show them to their rooms." He looks back at us. "I will summon you when we are ready to leave, it should be in few days. Meanwhile you are free to do whatever you want until we leave." Hayate drags me through the countless corridors following the door man. "Here are your rooms, the exit is just down this corridor. Your breakfast and dinner will be delivered to your rooms at 7am and 7pm." He scurries down the corridor and soon disappears round a bend. "Go to your room, we will talk when dinner comes. If you leave I will ground you for the whole time we are here." I enter the room feeling disappointed with myself for being so stupid and careless. The room has a huge lavish bed with silk sheets and it also has a small table with a couple of chairs either side. A shogi board engraved in the table with the pieces already set up. To my left is a door leading to large bathroom with a huge bath and two sinks. I suddenly flip over the table in anger and frustration causing the shogi pieces to scatter all around the floor. I lie on the huge bed feeling empty and the past energy I had completely gone. How can he say that? Am I really that weak that a mere business man can tell how weak I am? God, how did he get to me so easily? I slowly stand up and right the table while bending down to pick up the small pieces scattered around the floor. I place all the pieces in a heap on the table, my father never taught me how to play. I take off my backpack and open to see its contents: A small bento box, some money, some bandages, a few spare kunai and shuriken and a spare change of clothes. I unclip my katanas and relax from the heavyweights being taken off my back. I take off the sash and start taking off my gloves, arm warmers and wrappings while sliding off my fishnet elbow and knee guards. I take out the scroll and munch on a few strawberries while reading about some s-rank jutsus I need to practice. Suddenly the door opens, "I have your dinner, tonight it consists of a tomato soup starter, fillet steak with sautéed potatoes for mains and a chocolate torte to finish. I hope you enjoy." The rather handsome young man puts down my dinner and steps out of the room leaving me in peace. As I sit down to eat suddenly the door open again. "Yes just put it down on the table." The young man walks in again with another set of food and places it opposite me before backing out of the room. "Thanks" Hayate sensei steps into my view "Kurayami we need to talk."
