I sit on my the edge of my chair feeling slightly frightened at Hayate senseis tone of voice. "You, are a disgrace. You represent the village hidden in the leaves and yet you come in here like you own the place and then get angry at the client. But this is not just any client its the Eito Hamasaki, the richest man in the land of fire. You should be privileged this is your first ever mission yet you take it like you are going to walk in the park." He calms down and starts eating his dinner the tension killing me inside. "I'm sorry, I won't act like that again." He looks up at me in surprise that the Kurayami Raito actually said sorry. "It's ok, just don't be stupid, I don't want you to die." I flash a fake smile at him and carry on eating quickly, wishing this awkward moment would pass. "You ever played shogi?" Hayate sensei points to the pile of pieces on the side of the table. I shake my head "no, I was never taught, my father hated the game he said its was too boring." Hayate sensei shakes his head.
"Well how about a game once we've finished eating."
"Sure."
Later that night
"No this piece has to go there, it can't go there." I sigh as I move my piece, once again, to what Hayate sensei calls the correct place. Why do different pieces have different rules? Why can't they be the same? "Check." I slouch back on my chair as I realise that I lost, again. I reset the pieces back on the board and take my first move. "You know what, let's call it a night, we can play more tomorrow and we can even go into town."
He gets up and sees out of the corner of his eye my two katanas resting by the door. He picks them up and feels the weight of them in his hands, he then slightly unsheathes them from their plain red sheaths with orange sequins going up then in a pattern. He slowly unsheathes them completely and runs his hands up and down the blade. "Hmm 28 inches, your father must have thought you would grow a lot taller from your size at the moment, you must have trained with them for years while you were too way small for them. The strength in your upper body must be huge with the amount of training you have done." I shuffle in my seat a bit from the praise he gave me and reply
"I never realised they were the wrong size for me, I just trained with them that's all there is to it." He puts them in their sheathes and rests them back against the door. "Go to sleep soon, you'll need it. We might have a busy day tomorrow."
"Hey wait a minute, were you calling me short, I'm not short I'm just haven't had my growth spurt yet." I shout at him.

He walks out of the door way holding up his hand and waving it a bit before slamming the door shut. I clear up our dinner and place it outside for the servant to pick it up before jumping onto my bed. I lie there wide awake, not even in the covers, remembering my father and sisters faces with their bright eyes and big smiles. I soon fall into a restless sleep remembering that night and what happened.

In her dream

"No, please, don't kill me. I don't want to die." I scream at the man looming above me. His purple eyes bearing into my skin as my back collides with the cold wall behind me, a dead end. "You think of your self as a Raito. The Raitos I knew weren't cowards at the sight of blood. They didn't hide behind other people, they weren't weak." The word echoes around me as I try to drown it out with my ears. "You are worthless and let your family get killed, all around you. Do you know the reason why they were killed?" He stops for a moment to let the words sink in. "To save your tiny little soul from dying. They say you are a prodigy but you are all talk and no bite, worthless scum." The bodies of my clan suddenly appear scattered around me their eyes glazed over and blood pouring out of their vital spots. "If you are the girl that I was sent to kill, it will be easy. I'm coming for you." The man explodes in flames and disappears into ashes as my vision is clouded with smoke from the fire around me. The bodies turn into ash as the flames slowly lick towards me menacingly, crawling on the floor. I crumple in despair with the situation. My fire jutsu will just make more and my wind jutsu will make it bigger than it already us. Damn I should have listened when my father was trying to teach me water jutsu, he gave up on any jutsu rather than fire and wind styles after that. I look around me for any way to get out of the bare white room. I look up at the ceiling and hold my arms out, I guess my life will end here.
In reality
My chest heaves up and down from the lack oxygen, wait no oxygen. I quickly sit up on my bed and check my surroundings carefully. I gasp at the state of the room,: the table burning in flames, the shogi pieces scattered around the room, half of the door burnt down and the crisp white sheets now blackened and slightly burnt at the edges. The door is suddenly flung open by Hayate sensei, his clothes burnt slightly and his left arm dripping with blood. "Hayate sensei, what happened?" He races to the bed and feebly tries to carry me on his back, but he soon drops me from exhaustion. "Fire... Leave.... Now.....Eito...outside...ready...go." I nod quickly and grab my slightly burnt backpack and grab my bare katanas, the sheathes already burnt away. I hold Hayate sensei with my arm and hold up my other arm and put it into a tiger seal.

We poof away leaving the burning room and appear outside the building next to Eitos litter, the poor servants about to buckle under his weight. "Perfect now that you are here we can go, it is unfortunate about the house but I have many others else where that I can stay in. I hope you don't mind but one of my servants is very ill and cannot hold me up for much longer so one of you will have to take the weight." I look over at Hayate sensei and realise that he can't do anything in his state, I guess I'll have to carry the fat old man. "Of course, it would be an honour. But I ask if I can heal my sensei before we leave as he will not be able to protect you until I heal him." I say through gritted teeth, man I hate this guy.
"Of course, but do it quickly we need to go." I lay him on the floor and quickly perform the jutsu healing his arm up in a matter of seconds. "May I ask if he can lay down somewhere? He won't be getting up for a while but rest assured I can protect you." He sighs loudly
"Fine put him in the cart." I bow my head in respect and I lay him in the horse drawn cart with all the supplies in for his time in the hidden leaf village. I take the arm of the litter and slowly put it on my shoulder. "Hey, you're leaning the litter, hold it up." I bear my teeth in annoyance.
"Unfortunately the arm is on my shoulder, I cannot lift it up any more." He chuckles loudly
"You have arms don't you, hold it up with them. I thought you were small but I didn't realise you were this small." I hold the piece of wood in my hands and lift it up as far as my arms can go. "Hey not that far, now I'm leaning backwards." I slowly put it down to the right height, even though my hands are above my head, and mutter under my breath "why don't you try carrying a man of your size all the way to the hidden leaf village."
"Let's go." We slowly set off into the pitch black sky, the only light a few lanterns on the litter and on the cart. This is going to be a long journey.
