"Hey, how have your shift being?" Bright turned and stared at the guy coming and she couldn't help but wonder if this was really her counsellor, he wore a black Jean, with a mint green polo t shirt and a with an ash flossy shoes, his polo shirt was a bit folded at arm's length making his muscles emphasised.
She didn't want to admitted but he was looking so good and handsome this evening and she couldn't help but smile.
"Hey" Ed said again, "how was your shift? Hello? Hello?"
This time Bright brought herself from her drooling and answered immediately ashamed that she was lost.
"Evening, did u come here to eat, so you came afterall " Bright replied trying to change the subject.
"Nope I didn't come to eat not that am not hungry through I'll rather eat at home, I just came to see if you ate the end of your shift and take you home since we are lived on the same Street"
"Really, when did u start being all nice, plus we dont really stay on the same street like that, let's just say the same area still a bit far but walkable for like 25 minutes is not a short distance" Bright lifted up the flowers on the table and was cleaning it, she was through with her shift and was trying to make things right before the next person on the shift comes around.
"So are you ready to go? I can wait if you are still busy, I can just sit here"
" chill, I'll just get my bag and probably change and we can get going" Bright went inside to change her clothes into her normal comfortable chiffon shirt and a suitable black trousers, she slipped on her gladiators ,carried her bag, went to the inner court, bade her colleague goodbye and rushed out before they start asking questions about who came to pick her.
Immediately she came out Ed stood up and smiled. The walked side by side till they got to the car, he opened the door for her and she sat down before he went to the drivers side and sat down, putting on his seat belt.
" did you change your clothes before coming here? " she spat out what was on her mind before she realised that it has being on her mind. She bit her lower lips and looked down at her bag.
Ed laughed out loud as he held the wheels of the car with one hand and he glanced side ways at her. " well, thanks , but this was what I wore to school today, I just had two hours lecture with the second year student so there is no need to be so formal with my dressing, why are you asking you dont like my outfit?" Ed asked looking at her trying to reach her reaction.
"No, the polo shirt is fine" she answered him looking out of the car this time around.
The drive was silent, both of them were busy with their thought not making sure they were voicing put their thoughts.
Ed didn't like it when Bright was not bright, he wanted her to keep talking, although he doesn't talk much, he wanted this ride to be at least normal so he decided to on play a song at least to lighten the mood and worse they were already held up in a traffic jam.
He started playing a song by Enrique Iglesias "don't turn off the lights" as the song filled the car, he fel relaxed.
He glanced at Bright and tried to pick up a conversation.
" so what do you do when you are not on shift and when not in mom's mode"
She smiled a bit " well if am not on shift or in mom's mode most times am always busy doing on thing or the other, Jake with his problems or trying to do some things sha"
" that shows that most times when you are not in mom mood or on shift you are always free and busy with Jake up his sleeves."
" you know what Bright? How about we get to know each other a bit more than counselor and client, I mean we are stuck in his traffic and God knows when we are going to get out of it, not very soon I think"
