It's been a month since that fiasco with Nona happened. She was going to put a restraining order on Dick, just because he was my best friend and a boy! That's insane, almost as insane as the Joker. I ended up running away from her with Dick. Apparently, he had a secret life that no one knew about; he's Robin, the Boy Wonder. Who would have thought?
I also found out that this superhero, Black Canary, is my mom. I'm currently living in a mountain, which happens to be the hideout of the Young Justice League. They're a group of young heroes. I've been living here for a month now, and I have to admit, it's pretty awesome. I've watched Black Canary train them whenever she's not training me. I've decided that I want to be on the team, but Black Canary has to train me first. She took this month off from work as vacation month so she could train me. All day, every day she trained me. She's going back to work tomorrow. She told me that Batman is going to take over training me while she tends to her own city. She can't just skip that kind of work. I was currently dueling with Batgirl in the batcave. I kept dodging her attacks, and since she was throwing so many at me, I was struggling to keep up. I managed to miss one, and she kicked me in the stomach, sending me across the floor.
"Why don't we take a break," I suggested. "That's the third time you've kicked me in the past four minutes."
"You know, the enemy wouldn't take a break until you were a bloody pulp," she said helping me up.
"You know you're starting to sound like Batman," I commented smiling. "If you keep that up, you might lose the ability to smile."
"Don't even joke like that," she said. We only laughed, and we finally stopped when Batman came in.
"Caroline, we're going to try something different. Let's go to the mountain," he said walking towards the batmobile.
"Okay, see you later, Barb," I said waving to her.
"Bye, Caroline," she said waving back.
I hopped in the batmobile, and he drove off. We hopped out into the alley and went into the telephone booth. The robot scanned us, and we zeta beamed to the cave. Everyone was in the main room. It looked like thy were all waiting for us.
"Hey, guys," I said smiling. They all waved smiling.
"Caroline, today you're going to spar with the entire team," said Batman.
My eyes bugged out. "I'm sorry, what?"
"First you're going to spar with Blue Beetle," he said. Blue Beetle stepped forward onto the platform.
"Batman, I've only been training for a month, and you expect me to spar with the team?"
"Yes, and I expect you to win," he said looking serious.
"You've got to be kidding me," I mumbled.
"What?"
"Nothing," I said quickly.
I stepped up to the platform and readied myself. Blue got in a ready stance, and so did I. Blue made the first move. He came at me with his fist, aiming at my chest. I dropped down to a crouch out of instinct, and tried to grab his leg, but he moved before I could. He jumped up; he squatted down, and tried to swing his leg into me. I jumped up to avoid it, but I didn't entirely dodge it. The tips of my feet hit his legs, and I fell backwards. As soon as I felt myself go backwards, I turned it into a flip. I landed on my feet. Blue got up back up in a fighting stance. I made the next move. I advanced towards him, throwing punches towards his chest area. He deflected most of them, but I managed to land one on him. He was momentarily stunned, and I used that to my advantage. I grabbed his arm, and twisted it around his back and applied pressure. When he wasn't expecting it, I picked him up and threw him on the ground.
