CHAPTER TEN
An uproar of engines came from farther down the darkened road, a sea of bright, yellowish lights flooded the road. Victoria and Brandon quickly moved to the side of the road, out of the way of the stampede of Honda bikes. They then came to a halt in front of the couple.
"A problem, mate?" Asked a man.
"No, everything's fine." Brandon stated stubbornly.
"I wasn't asking you." Retorted the man in a gruff voice.
Brandon looked a Victoria unsurely while she spoke, "No, this man has used me and wants to leave me here, in the middle of nowhere!"
Brandon frowned, "But I don't need you anymore, you're dragging me behind."
The bikey stood up, easily towering over Brandon, at least 6"4', "That's not how you speak to a woman."
A couple of the bike riders started to throw insults and threats at him, whilst Victoria stood there, feeling guilty as all.
The teasing got to the point where Brandon decided to walk away, the men laughing and Victoria in a state of regret.
"Wait, Brandon!" Victoria called out.
The men stopped their bantering.
"They could probably help, after all, they are on the road a lot more than we are... and they might know the location in the letter!" Victoria reasoned.
She did have a point... Brandon thought.
Turning around, Brandon came face to a desperate looking woman standing amongst a group of men sitting on expensive bikes.
He let out a groan of annoyance, "Fine."
Victoria grinned.
"So, where is this so called location?" Asked the man.
"He's looking for his son and he's suspecting that these men had taken him, we just received another clue as to where he could be."
The man took the letter. Looked at it. Scratched his chin and looked up.
"It's only through that tunnel, take a left and head down that highway, get off at the 17th exit and that should see you through."
"Thank you so much!" Brandon exclaimed, loudly.
"He's very excited to see his son..." Victoria said in a hushed tone.
The bikey group chuckled and nodded, "Well, we'd better kick off now and get to the nearest hotel for a nights rest."
Brandon nodded and waved them goodbye, whilst Victoria kept repeating the address and directions, trying to imprint them on her mind.
"Thank you!" Brandon yelled once the bikeys disappeared down and out of the tunnel.
Brandon grinned at Victoria, "You are amazing!" He exclaimed, tackling her in a bear hug.
"BRANDON!" She screamed, "I AM WEARING HEELS!"
Brandon stood up and manoeuvred off her, then helped her up off the ground.
"Apologize."
"No."
Victoria glared.
"Sorry."
Both huffed and started their short walk towards the tunnel. Brandon gained an uneasy feeling in his stomach,.
"Let's go!" Victoria's attitude taking a complete 180.
"Uh, I don't know about this, it's pretty narrow, what if a car comes down the tunnel while we're walking?" Brandon rejected the dangerous idea.
"Oh c'mon, who's gonna be driving at this time of night?"
A group of angry bikers and a crazy mad man who wished to hit us with his car, that's who...
"Oh look! A doe!"
Victoria whipped around, "Where?"
"Oh! You just missed it! The thing went over the tunnel... C'mon, we'll go see if we can catch up to it!"
"Okay." Victoria exclaimed.
Real sorry guys. school is being a real pain in the ass
