APOLOGIES FOR THE LATE UPDATE. I AM AS LAZY AS THEY GET. SCHOOL IS A BTCH AND ETC. ENJOY
The walk was extremely silent, Victoria dodging every leaf or stick, making sure she didn't scare away the 'doe'.
"Are you sure you saw a little baby deer?"
"Victoria," Brandon dragged his palm down his face, "A doe is a female deer, not a baby deer..."
"Oh."
Silence.
"What's a baby deer called then?"
Brandon groaned, "I dunno, cute?"
"No seriously, what's it called?"
Brandon sighed, "A fawn, it's called a fawn."
"How do you know that?"
"Because my wife used to study animals and create artworks of them, she'd always tell me about how she admired them."
"Oh." Was all Victoria could've said.
Silence filled the forest again, until a low growl came from in front of them, then one behind them and soon they saw themselves surrounded by the aggressive animals.
"Aww, a cute puppy! I'm gonna call him Fluffy! And fluffy shall be mine!"
The wolves crouched in a position, ready to pounce if they had decided to move.
"Victoria, we're gonna play a game."
"A game?"
"Yeah, a game."
"Oh boy, I love a game!"
"Okay, the rules are, you have to run."
"Run?"
"Run."
Victoria took off, the wolves chasing her. Brandon, shocked at her sudden departure, stood there for a second; mouth agape, eyes blinking and frozen posture.
His senses soon came to him and he took off in the same direction, soon catching up.
"How the hell are we outrunning wolves?!"
"I don't know!" Brandon exclaimed, "You're wearing f*cking heels for crying out loud!"
Victoria flashed a grin at him, "It takes skills to do this."
Brandon shook his head in disbelief, lagging behind in speed.
"Come on, catch up!"
Brandon started to sprint, weaving through the trees as fast as his long legs could, "Eat my dust, Victoria!"
Soon Brandon had ditched Victoria, leaving her behind in the woods. He exited the forest, walking around with his hands on his head and his breaths coming in and out at a rapid speed.
Minutes passed before Brandon grew concerned, she should be out by now, he thought, it shouldn't take this long...
The curiosity became too strong, leading him back into the woods. The crunching of dry leaves beneath his feet was the only sound that could be heard as he made his way through the forest.
The darkness made it impossible to see anything, so he got his phone out, swiped up and pressed the torch icon in the bottom left corner.
There, only 10 meters away, lay Victoria with a rip up the side of her dress and redpainting the fabric.
