*Roman's pov*
I was hating being hurt...my ego was taking a hit having my wife take care of me...I couldn't hold my sons...I can't hold my wife the way I want to...Ali assures me we're going to be fine that nothing is changing...Liam was now 3 months old and I still was out of work...Ali would take the boys to daycare and then work...I'd head to my physical therapy....today I was meeting up with Ali for lunch...I sat waiting...I couldn't hide the smile as she walked up..I stood up "Hi.."
Ali greeted me with a kiss "Hi.."
I pulled her chair out before sitting down myself "How has your day been."
She nodded "Slow...I can't wait to get home to my boys..."
I nodded "I checked on the boys after my appointment..."
Ali nodded with a smile "How did that go by the way?"
I gave her a small smile "Doc said I'm healing great...I can start light activity but I can't return to work just yet."
She took a sip of her water "Babe that's great..."
I nodded "Look I know I haven't been the easiest to deal with these past few weeks I'm not used to being dependant on anyone let alone leaving my wife to take care of our entire house alone."
Ali shook her head "Have you heard me complain at all during this?"
I shook my head "Well no.."
She nodded "And you won't....you did so much for me you put yourself and Kellan in danger for me....you gave me Liam...taking care of you right now is the least I can do."
I nodded "It's just not something I'm used to...Kellan's mother wasn't like this."
Ali nodded as our food arrived "Well I'm not her..."
I shook my head with a smile "No you're not."
She took a bite of her food "You never really told me about what happened...why she left.."
I nodded "Tara and I met my first year on the force...it wasn't a good relationship we broke up constantly...when she found out she was pregnant I stepped up...this was my child...we weren't together but I let her live with me so I could help with Kellan....he had just turned 2 months old...I woke up all her stuff was gone and she had signed some papers and left them on the table...haven't seen or heard from her since."
Ali frowned slightly "No reason she just left?"
I shook my head "No reason at all but I made the best of it and gave Kellan the best life I could...and now he has you.."
She smiled softly "Yeah...I'm not going anywhere."
I nodded "Good..."
Ali smiled "Yeah.."
I nodded "Can you take the rest of the day off?"
She nodded "I'll let Hannah know I'm not coming back."
I nodded "Alright..."
Ali smiled "Okay.."
After lunch we went home...we sat on the couch enjoying our quiet Ali sat resting against my chest..I moved her hair off her neck pressing a kiss to the exposed skin "I love you."
She smiled softly "I love you too.."
I nodded "You know I've never felt for anyone what I feel for you...all we've been through together in just a year...you're the love of my life Ali."
Ali let her thumb run across my wedding band "I don't think I could of survived what happened without you...I love you with all my heart...when Dean called me my world came crashing down around me..the drive to the hospital all I could think about was how I couldn't handle losing you...I never felt that fear before...not even with my parents."
I closed my eyes pressing a kiss to the back of her head...I enhaled deeply taking in the smell of her shampoo "I'm not going anywhere baby girl...as long as I can help it I'm coming home to you and our boys.."
She leaned her head back against my shoulder looking at me "We're a family."
I smiled down at her "Always..."
Ali smiled softly "Always."
I pressed a light kiss to her lips "Let's go get our boys."
She looked at the clock "Yeah..."
With that we got up and left when we got home Kellan insisted on pizza and movies which is what we did....Kellan layed on Ali and I had Liam laying on my chest...everything I've been through in my life this was what was the most important my family...
