After I got ready for practice this morning, I got a phone call from my mom.
"Hello" I answered.
"Hey honey! How is everything going? Are they treating you nice over there? Made any new friends?"
"Everything is great, mom." I chuckled. "I have settled in nice here. I just auditioned for principle chair so I will find out today if I get it or not... I have made two friends and they are great..."
"Well... that is just wonderful! Any...boys?" I laughed at that (typical mother)
"Ugh... I don't think so... There is this one guy but he acts pretty cold to everyone.."
"I'm sorry to hear about that. What I would do is invite him to go out with you on a date!"
"Mom... He would definitely say no and I think he hates me!"
"Well you will never know unless you ask him! Good luck. I have to go, sweetie! Don't make me a grandmother just yet! Love you!" She didn't wait for my response and ended the phone call.
......
Practice went pretty good but you can tell everyone was on their toes waiting for the conductor to announce who got principle chair. Looking around, I could literally smell the sweat and anticipation. Everyone was sitting at the end of their chairs...well all except for one person...
Luka was sitting casually with his perfect posture and his cello rested in-between his legs—tapping his fingers across the fingerboard along to a song he had memorized. His perfect blonde hair was messy and long yet looked so presentable and soft. His eyes were closed and his brows were pushed together in concentration. The white dress shirt hugged his toned body nicely.
At the end of practice, the conductor told us to stay back and hear who made principle.
"Ordnung jeder! Ich habe die Liste der Grundsatz Spieler hier in meinen Händen. Cello geht an Luka, viola geht an Marie, Bass geht an Antony und violine geht an Lillian."
Luka looked over at me as soon as my name was called for principle violin. He didn't look angry or cold like he always looks... His eyes had a since of curiosity. Before he went to pack up his things, he sent a smirk my way with a wink. I thought about what my mom told me on the phone and an idea popped in my head.
I hurried on after Luka out the door.
"Hey Luka!" As soon as I shouted his name, he froze and turned to me.
"What do you want, Lillian?"
"Well I am new here and I am trying to make friends and well.. Do you want to hang out together sometime?"
"You want to "hang out" sometime?" His face was held with disbelief.
"Yeah! You have made it pretty clear that you don't like me and I am going to fix that! We are going to be seeing a lot more of each other now that we are both principles! What do you say? Will you "hang out" with me?" He thought about it for a second then looked me in the eyes.
"Fine. But this isn't a date...it's just hanging out."
"Yeah exactly! I'll see you soon, Luka!" And after that I headed to my apartment with a huge smile on my face.

Lukas POV
Lillian got the principle part.
I thought this year was going to be like any other... I am principle and lead the cello section to the big win and then repeat. But as soon as that girl with the long brown hair and big blue eyes ran into me... I knew this year was going to be different.
I looked across the stage, trying to take in her features. She was seated at the edge of her chair and biting her lip like she always does. Lillian looked relieved and her proudness radiated off of her like the sun. When it was time to leave, I caught her staring at me so I sent her a wink.
As I walked out the door I stopped when I heard loud footsteps behind me.
"Hey Luka!" I groaned recognizing Lillian's voice.
"What do you want, Lillian?" I had to look down to her since I was at least 8 inches taller than her.
"Well I am new here and I am trying to make friends and well... Do you want to hang out together sometime?" She looked so hopeful.
"You want to "hang out" sometime?"
"Yeah! You have made it pretty clear that you don't like me and I am going to fix that! We are going to be seeing a lot more of each other now that we are both principles! What do you say? Will you "hang out" with me?"
"Fine. But this isn't a date...it's just hanging out."
"Yeah exactly! I'll see you soon, Luka!" After that, she turned around and left with a skip in her step. I smiled to myself and picked up my cello case and took a walk.
Okay I will do only one "hang out" with her and then no more. Gosh she gets on my nerves.... The way her big blue eyes light up with excitement or how she bites her lip when she is nervous. Her cuteness annoys me to no end.
I am going to go home to practice to get my mind off what just happened!
A/N
I know...I know...
I have not updated in two months!!! These past two months I have nearly killed myself practicing for the AllState orchestra auditions that happened last week (I play the violin in real life). When I finally had this chapter ready to upload it somehow got deleted (ugh) so I had to start all over again. In result of that, this chapter isn't the best one I have written. Thank you to those who reminded me to update and stay on track with this story. I am so happy there are people like you all that have left very encouraging comments on my profile and story.
SO THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! I will start working on the new chapter soon (I promise!).
Don't forget to share this story, vote, and comment!
Let me know what you all want to see in future chapters also.
Have a wonderful day!
