LillianI never dated in high school. I always thought dating in school was immature and meaningless. My time was spent doing school work and practicing my music. The violin was the love of my life. So of course these feelings are very much foreign to me.
I woke up feeling the most very energized and elated. These past few weeks were routine. I woke up, went to practice, practiced, read my book, ate dinner, practiced, and then went to bed. Now, there is another reason why I get up every morning.
Luca and I haven't shared a moment that intimate since that encounter a few days ago but I still acquire chills remembering how his lips felt on mine and the sweet nothings he whispered. We spent the rest of the day together laying on his couch talking about special memories we have, why we got into playing, and what we wanted to do in the future. I was surprised about all of his answers. When he told me about his past as a young boy, his eyes would light up so bright and he beamed the most candid smile no one in the orchestra probably has ever seen before. Moments like that deserved to be captured in a photo and hung up all over my walls in my apartment.
...
"You seriously never had a boyfriend before?" I remember him asking. I blushed and looked down at my fingers.
"No" I laughed. He looked genuinely shocked and sat us up on the couch looking me in the eyes. "I never saw the reason to. It seemed immature. All my friends were more worried about a boy than anything else and would get their feelings hurt all the time...Not exactly what I wanted to waste my time with."
"Have you never gone on a date? Or went to a school dance with someone?" He questioned.
"Yes" I sighed "I have. It wasn't my favorite thing, wasn't awful...But I would've rather done something else. It was always some guy my friend wanted to set me up with and the only thing all of them would talk about are sports and what I have experience in." I rolled my eyes to the last part. Luca laughed but quickly tried to cover it with a fake cough.
"Wow I'm sorry. I wasn't much of the dating scene either. One girl even told me I was too cold to others and will never find love when I broke up with her." I laughed internally to that. He's not the friendliest person to meet.
"Wow I wonder why she said that." I replied, laced with sarcasm.
"Oh be quiet Lil." He leaned over and moved his face so close to mine that we were almost kissing if one of us were to move our heads. Suddenly, Luca grabbed my waist and pulled me down to where I was laying on the couch. Before I could ask, he was already tickling me.
"Stop. Stop please. Luca stop!" Laughing, he finally stopped and muttered, "And that is why you don't make fun of me." I joined in and laughed until I realized what he said earlier.
"You called me Lil?" He paused and pulled me to his lap.
"Yes I did. Why do you like it?" He whispered in my ear and placed a light kiss on my cheek.
"Well I'm pretty sure people dating do that sort of thing."
"Lillian...I want to take this slow with you. You mean a lot to me already but I'm not used to letting someone get so close to me. I-" I stopped him with a quick peck on his mouth.
"I understand completely"
...
Our practice first seemed normal like every other day. We all set up in our normal seating and tuned. Then we begin practice... Well today wasn't like that.
Our conductor walked onto the stage and set his scores on his stand in the center on our set up. He greeted everyone like normal and asked how our weekends were. Then he looked over to where I was sitting and gently smiled to where only I could see it. I looked around to confirm if anyone else saw that and my eyes immediately locked with Luca's. He winked at me and then turned his attention to the conductor.
"Today we aren't going to just do the same thing and practice our piece... I want us to work on playing as a group than individuals playing the same song at the same time. So I brought a duet piece and would like for Lillian and Luca to join me to the front of the stage please." Luca and I both looked at each other puzzled and moved our stands and chairs to the center.
"Now I would like you two to play this for us but remember play together." He nodded his head for us to begin. I inhaled deeply and looked over to Luca. He was adjusting his bow and combed his har with his left hand while staring intently at the sheet music in front of us.
We both got in position and inhaled at the same time to let each other know we were playing.
The piece wasn't very complicated and was easy to sight read. I was a bit nervous because I have never played with him before and found myself paying more attention to him than my own playing. The song was like a conversation to each other. One would play and then the other would continue with the same phrase but with something new placed after it. The song was light and innocent but with a lot of expression. After a minute of playing, we were both fully in sync with each other. I was so lost in our playing that I was still in a daze when the piece finished.
The orchestra applauded us and Luca bowed his head to me and joined in the clapping.
After practice, I found a note in my violin case.
Meet me in our special place tomorrow night at 7
I looked over at Luca and he smirked at me before leaving the building.
I folded the note into my pocket and walked home with Mara and Cord.
A smile was rested on my face the whole night

Luca and Lillian's duet is the video above-its such a beautiful song I had to add it to this chapter!
