"Doctor! Doctor help! They're doing experiments on me!" I scream out until one of the aliens puts a gag on me and injects me with some kind of long needle with bright green fluid. My body slowly relaxes, and I feel quite sleepy. The last thing I see before darkness descends is a long needle with a purple shimmery fluid this time, in one of those alien's five hands...
Oh god, what if Rose is dead! What if they killed her? Jackie is going to kill me! is the first thing I hear as I wake up.
"Rose! You're awake!"
Thank god! Jackie isn't going to kill me!
"My mum would never kill you, silly." I say, still groggy from whatever drug they gave me.
Did I say that out loud?
"Doctor, I can hear you." I say, shaking off the grogginess.
"Hear what, Rose?"
Hear that she looks so beautiful she looks even after alien experiments?
"Your thoughts Doctor. Is that what I'm hearing?"
Oh god oh no oh no oh no maybe she's imagining it?
"Surely not, Rose, what am I thinking now?"
45+5=50
"Fourty-five plus five equals fifty?" I say curiously.
"Yeah, let's get you back to the Tardis."
Don't think about it. Don't. Don't even dare.
"Doctor? Did they do this to me? Can I read minds now?" He grabs my hand and pulls me quickly along to the hallway where the Tardis landed.
"I'm not sure Rose, the Tardis can scan you."
She's adorable when she says Doctor.
We walk into the Tardis into the medical bay and the Tardis scans me. The doctor squints at the computer for a minute and says "Yes, you can read minds, but only mine. I can't read yours. I think you can read mine because they injected me with something too, while I was trying to save you."
This is going to be a long day.
"How long will it last?" I ask, sitting beside the doctor.
"I don't know yet, but hopefully not long." He says, staring at the computer.
"Why, you got something to hide?" I joke.
My overwhelming love.
"Nope. You feel fine? No side effects?"
"I feel a bit nauseous, but that's it."
"Great. You should probably go home then."
"Nope. I'm not missing a second of- oh no, doctor, I'm gonna hurl." I lean over to the trash can and throw up into it. I raise myself to a sitting position and mumble an apology.
"No need to apologize! Watch this!" The Doctor presses a button and the trash can disappears.
We better get you a toothbrush, some tea, and a blanket, preferably shared with-nope she can read your thoughts, remember?
I follow the Doctor down a hallway to the bathroom and he gives me a toothbrush and toothpaste, then leaves to make tea and set up a movie. I don't tell him that I feel completely fine, no nausea. I brush my teeth then walk slowly into the kitchen. I slump down on a chair, groaning. The Doctor walks over from the kettle and puts his arms around me."Ugh, Doctor. I'm sick." I whine.
"Oh don't worry Rose, I can't get sick. It's a reaction from the injection," he states matter-of-factly.
She's so cute when she's sick, I wouldn't miss this for the world.
"Do you want to put on something more comfortable? There are sweatpants in your closet," he says.
"Yes that would be lovely," I say. I walk down the hallway back to my bedroom. I slip off my jeans and put on the heart patterned sweatpants the doctor left me. "No top," I wonder aloud. Sure, I could wear this t-shirt, but I would rather wear...
I peek out of my room, spying for the Doctor. He must be setting up the movie. I carefully tiptoe into the next room, the Doctor's. I open the door to his closet and find what I'm looking for. One of his button up shirts, carelessly strewn on the carpeted floor. I pick it up and lift it to my nose. It smells like him. I change as quickly as possible, tiptoeing into my room again to put my shirt away. I hope he doesn't mind.
I walk back into the kitchen, then into the living room, where the Doctor is waiting with tea, a movie, and a blanket on the couch. He didn't hear me come in.
I think Rose will like this one.
"Doctor?" I say, drawing his attention to me.
Ohmygod that's my shirt! Aww she looks so cute! Shut up she can hear you, moron.
"Oh, uh, Rose," the Doctor sputters, turning red. "I, uh, see you found something to, um, wear."
Only Rose can make sweatpants look so beautiful.
"Yeah, I um, thought you wouldn't mind?" I say curiously.
The Doctor's face breaks into the widest, most brilliant smile I have ever seen, then says "Of course not! Come, sit."
I sit at the other end of the couch and sip my tea as he starts the movie. Oh, James Bond! I love these!
Should I scootch over closer? I want to cuddle but what if she doesn't? What if she hates James Bond?
I move over towards him and we lie together under the blanket, his arms around me. Spooning.
"Don't be ridiculous, Doctor. I love cuddling and I love James Bond." I whisper into his ear.
Its going to be pretty hard for me to focus on the movie while you're so close to me.
I giggle and turn over to kiss his cheek. "Just try to not think so loud," I laugh.
I'll try, but no promises.
"Could I stay the night again, Doctor?" I say in his ear.
"Of course, Rose. I love it when you spend the night."
Yesssssss. Score! After the movie, I fall asleep in the doctor's arms, unconcerned about what the future holds.
